Yes it is, and this is the other new, easy way to pick up a quotation on your motor car. Because in front of me right now, face to face, is Adam Hall, and it’s a very good morning to you, Adam.

Good morning, Wayne, but it’s not so new. We’ve been around for a while. It’s not so new, but gee, it still keeps growing and growing. It certainly does. Oh, look, we’ve got in right now with a cup of coffee, coffee beside the old radio, and we welcome you to our program. And if you’d like to get a valuation on your motor car, if you’re thinking of selling it privately or going in on a trade and getting a brand new one, and you want some advice and you want a valuation, a figure on your car that will help you turn it over quickly because that is the trick.

So you don’t hang around because this market doesn’t continues to be very volatile. Absolutely. And in a volatile market like this, it can cost you a lot of dollars. So, it’s wise to get an opinion from Adam, and he is here now waiting for your call on 5520 8888. And you can do that right now. Okay, Adam, let’s um, have a, uh, Bit of a chat now with our, uh, market and our, um, review of various, various, uh, items here.

I’ve got a whole list here, so I’ll leave it to you to pick up. I, I’ve read this story about, uh, an example of the, the cheapest cars that are available on the market. Yes. The most expensive. Yes. And there’s some expensive ones. Absolutely. So, I’ll go through the, uh, the cheapest models first. So the, the cheapest car that you can buy right now, uh, is 19, 490 on the road.

That’s brand new. Uh, it’s the MG3. No wheels, but you can, you can sit in it. Well, surprisingly, they come with a lot of features. Do they really? Just shows you can be done. It can be done. That’s right. So 19, 490 and that includes all the on road costs. Yes, gee. Then the second cheapest is the Kia Picanto. Um, that’s 21, 490.

Um, little compact hatch. And then you go to the Suzuki Ignis at 24, 500. So that’s, that’s the cheapest. Yeah. So now let’s go into the most expensive. Uh, in, uh, in third spot, we’ve got the Ferrari SF90, that’s, uh, 846, 000 plus on road costs in standard form. How much was that again? 846, 000. I’ll have one. Just one, please.

It buys a few MG3s. It doesn’t, ever. And then we go to the Lamborghini, uh, Revu, Revu, uh, Revu, Elto. Um, that’s, that’s harder to, that’s really hard to say. Lamborghini. Lamborghini, that’s, uh, 987, 000 plus on road costs. Oh my goodness. And then the Rolls Royce Phantom, uh, that starts at 1, 085, 000 plus on road costs.

It’s hard to comprehend. Really is, isn’t it? Imagine if you park your Roller in the, uh, Woolworths, um, or the, uh, Shopping Centre car park. Not likely. Not likely. Alright, we’ve got our first call, Adam. We might go to Val. Good morning Val. Good morning Val. Good morning Adam. How can I help you Val? I’ve got, I’ve got a Honda Jazz VTI 2014.

It’s a Rally Red, it’s automatic, and it’s got 59, 630 k’s on the clock. 59, 000, alright, um, Nice colour, Rally Red, it’d go a little bit faster than the average one. They do. Oh yeah, yeah definitely. Now how’s the condition Val, is it well looked after? It’s good. Alright. Yeah, well looked after. Alright, so 59, 000 kilometres.

And would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Yes, please mate. Alright. I think, uh, to sell it privately, uh, I think you should be expecting around, uh, 11, 000 for it. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it would be about 2, 000 to 2, 500 less than that. Okay. 2, 000 to 2, 500 less. Okay.

Correct. Okay. Thank you so much. You’re very welcome. I appreciate your call. I’d love to start. Thank you. Thank you. Bye bye. Bye. Okay, bye Val, thank you for that, and Bob’s up next, and if you’d like to get in line now, you can call on 5520 888. Okay, Bob, what’s your car? Good morning, Bob. Hello. Good morning, Bob.

Hello, Alan. How can I help you going? Very well, thank you. I just wanted to get an idea for insurance again, and we did last year as well, but Uh, the insurance company I’m with has really whacked up the, uh, premium and I want to get a, I actually went, went to another and got another quote. They only, uh, quote would be the market value for the car, but, uh, the car is, is in top condition and it’s, uh, got low kilometers and all the rest.

I wanted to get something fairer from, from this new insurer if I could. Certainly. Um. What sort of car is it? Well, it’s a, uh, a fifth night in a 2015 Audi. A4, but, uh, first registered August 16, so it’s about 8, coming up 8 years old, yeah. Okay, alright. Uh, it’s a TFSI S Tronic Sport, 140kW. Kilowatt, alright. Uh, Matador Red.

Automatic sedan, um, yep, uh, in top top condition because it’s just been garaged all its life. It’s got 66, 000 K’s on it. Hmm, alright. Very low kilometers. Just an idea of the, uh, current, uh, market value, yeah. All right, uh, being a 2015, it’s got, uh, as you say, it has got low kilometers for, for the year. Um, do you mind if I ask what the insurance company, um, gave you as a, as a value?

Well, the one I’m with now, and I don’t think I’ll go with them because I whacked the premium up about 35%, uh, is 20, 700. Mm, okay. Uh,

I do think it’s, uh, I actually think, uh, if you were to try and replace that car, you would probably have to pay more than that to get one. So, yeah, so because it’s got such low kilometers, um, yeah, I think you would probably, let’s say it was stolen or something like that, I think you would probably have to pay 22, 000 or 23, 000 to replace it.

So I think you should be trying to find an insurance company that’s prepared to give you that sort of value, but at a reduced premium. Yeah, sure, hopefully. All right. Okay. Well, that’s a good guide. Thank you. Thanks, Andrew. You’re welcome. Yeah. Thank you, Bob. Okay. Bye bye. Bye. So, generally, you can get that value, the value increased, but your premium It’s a matter of shopping around.

It’s just shopping around. You’ve got to check out other companies. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It’s a tough call. The way with anything with insurance at the moment, it’s a tough tag. It certainly is. And a lot of work. But it’s worth it at the end of the day. Okay, Bob. Thank you for your call. Yeah, thanks for your help.

Have a good day Bob. Okay, let’s move on and Tony up next. Good morning, Tony. Good morning, Adam. Um, Adam, I’ve got a 2016 CX 5 all wheel drive 2. 5 litre. Alright. And approximately 61, 000 km. Alright. One owner. 61, okay. Uh, is it the Max or Max Sport? Uh, do you know? Oh, the Max. The Max. It’s a Max, alright.

So it’s got 61, 000 kilometers and it’s the 2. 5 petrol and what color is it Tony? Uh, Racey Red. Racey Red. It’s the third red car we’ve had in three red cars today. That’s incredible. Ha ha ha. Everybody loves red today. Uh, alright. Sounds like a very, uh, very nice car. It’s got low kilometres, so it will be worth more than the average one.

Uh, would you like, uh, private sale value as well as trade? Yes please, if I could do that. All right. Uh, I think if you were to, um, sell it, uh, privately, you should be expecting in the really late teens, around the 18 to 19. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be about two to two and a half thousand less than that.

All right. Yeah. Can you also tell me what’s, um, I’m interested in getting a SCODA. What are they like for resale values? after you’ve had them a couple of years? Uh, not as strong as some other models. They can be, uh, if you’re, if you’re planning on only keeping it for two or three years, I probably wouldn’t recommend going down that path because it’s quite a, quite a shock how much you lose in that period.

Um, but if you’re, if you’re planning on keeping it for long term, uh, I do believe they’re a very good car. They’ve got all the VW and Audi, so, uh, I don’t think you should have an issue there, but resale at this point is a little bit, uh, less than some other comparable models. Okay. All right. Thank you very much.

Thank you, Tony. Bye bye. Thank you. Cheers. Bye bye. Yes. Thank you for your call, Tony. And, uh, you can get on to Adam right now if you call 5520 8888. And you will, uh, yep, yep, you’ll be next in line. So go to the phone now, 5520 8888. Okay, Adam, did we finish our cheapest and dearest car? I think we did. We got to 1.

2 million. We can’t beat that. A million and eighty five. But the thing to think about with those cars is generally that’s in base spec and there’s normally a lot of other features that people will end up buying. You’re giving the car price, not the on road price. That’s right. Stamp duty. Stamp duty. I think even dealer delivery is incredibly, like 10, 000 or something like that, just for that.

So it’s a lot of money. Big investment. I guess if you’ve got it, you can do it. That’s right. Alright. Why don’t we have a quick break? Um, uh, mention on the speed camera that, uh, the State, uh, Roads Department were skiting about, uh, well I shouldn’t say skiting, it was a feature on most of the, uh, State news services, uh, last night.

Mm. It’s a, it’s a concerning one because, uh, it’s, uh, and a lot of people talk about this and I know that. Um, we’ve often talked about this Bermuda Street at Rudd Street. I’ve contributed to the Police Superannuation Fund. And I have too. So has many other people that I’ve spoken to. And we shouldn’t lie, we shouldn’t make a joke of it because it is a serious, we believe it’s a serious issue.

It is. But, uh, so that Bermuda Street, um, uh, speed camera there was 14, 369 fines in the last, Yeah. Just in the last financial year. It’s a lot of people, a lot of people in what really can be said to be an unfair, unfair situation with the, as you come off the M1 into Bermuda Street, coming off there, you’re traveling at between Ks for quite a long way.

And then suddenly it stops to 60. That’s right. Well, it begs the question, you ask, well, why are so many people being caught in that zone? I don’t think that it’s, all those people are just being reckless and speeding. It really does catch you by surprise. It’s a road that, it’s just a straight, straight road with three lanes either side.

Yeah. And you would I think that 60 kilometers an hour is, is too low for that sort of area. And I think that’s why so many people get caught. They get caught. And as I said to you off air, I believe, strongly believe that they should take, instead of building up how much money they’ve they’ve taken, they should do a research, those 14, 000 people, at least 30 percent of them privately, retaining the confidentiality aspect of it, but have a chat with some of those people, because some of them may have lost their license because of that speeding fine, and they could be contractors, and it has a huge social issue on some of our people, and if it’s an unfair location, we’re Put your hand up and make adjustments.

Don’t keep scouting about the number of fines you’ve taken and the number of, and the revenue from that. Well, the one thing I don’t see very often in that area is car accidents. We don’t Yes. So Yeah. Generally, speed cameras are put in areas where There’s already an issue with safety, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem.

So come on new Premier, or Premier, let’s have a look at that as an issue and get some sense into researching Rudd Street. It’s not good enough. Okay, look, we might go to our break and then be back with more calls. Cost of living continues to impact our home budget. But selling your car is now easier, more effective, and has zero associated costs when you deal with Adam Hall.

Log on to AdamHallBuyMyCar. com. au or call 0404 290 4000. And Adam Hall is right here in the studio waiting for your call right now on 5520 888 for evaluation on your motor car. Okay Adam, um, You might have noticed, I wanted to, it’s a pretty important one because Yep. I’ve spoke, I’ve spoken to a couple of people just in the last couple of weeks that have been caught with this issue, uh, and it’s, it’s about, uh, repaired write off vehicles.

There’s a lot of these cars in the market right now, uh, and there’s a lot of people being caught out buying them privately and not being aware that the car has been previously written off. Written off. So what, what I mean by repaired write off is that an insurance company can, uh, write off a car and there’s.

There’s two paths they can go down. It can be a statutory write off. So that means it can never be put on the road again and never be registered. But then there’s another category, which is called a repaired write off. So they go to a salvage auction. A lot of these. Panel beaters, um, repairers buy them, they buy them very cheap, uh, they fix them often with second hand parts and, and that sort of thing, um, and they have to go through a, uh, they have to pass an inspection to get back on the road, but there’s so many out there that just aren’t what I believe that are up to standard, and, um, People are paying what they would normally pay for a car that hasn’t been written off.

Uh, and then when they go to either sell again, or they’re trying to get insurance, or all sorts of things, people have, uh, it’s really costing them a lot of money. And they find out the bad news. It’s better to do the check for a small amount of money before you pay out the money. Well, it’s, it’s two dollars to do the check, and every time I buy a car, that’s what I do.

I go on to the ppsr. gov. au and the first thing it will tell you is whether, uh, there’s any, uh, finance owing on the car, uh, whether it’s been stolen, uh, stolen status or written off status. Yes, it makes sense. So for 2, you just need to go to ppsr. gov. au, uh, and that will give you the, the history check. But, uh, dealers actually have to give you, they have to tell you if a car has been written off before, the private dealer.

Private sellers don’t. So that’s why it’s, uh, that’s a big problem. Gee, it’s an informative program this morning. We’re, we’re keeping you up to date with, uh, buying and selling your car. And the most important thing you can do right now, if you’re thinking of selling your car, is to get a real time valuation from Adam this morning.

And all our lines are currently free. Double five two zero, double eight, double eight is the number. And it’s 22 minutes past 10. I just thought I’d drop that in for you. We’re running out of time fast. So if you want to do it, do it now. 55208888 is the number. Okay, Elon Musk has made a, quite a, an outstanding comment with regard to the, uh, um, EV.

Well, they’ve been talking, uh, apparently there’s a number of, they’re laying off a number of staff within Tesla because their sales aren’t where they need to be. Uh, so I think it’s in the thousands and thousands of people have been laid off. One of the issues that Elon Musk has acknowledged that EVs are under a lot of pressure right now, uh, globally due to the popularity of hybrids.

power. A lot of manufacturers are putting a lot of their resources into hybrid power rather than electric and the buying public are really enjoying that product and wanting to buy it because it’s still at a reasonable price and good fuel efficiency. As well, and it’s a step towards electric, but not totally going that way.

So the Tesla is, and other electric car companies are struggling because of that. And it brings in other practical aspects of it too. You’ve got, you’ve got no limitations on your range. That’s right. And you’re not losing money on a resale. No, nothing really changes. It’s hybrid power right now. The resale value is incredible.

Yes. Okay. It really is. Okay. Makes sense. All right. We’ve got Noel on the line. Good morning Noel. Are you there Noel? Yeah, hi. Good morning gentlemen. Good morning. Thank you. We love being called gentlemen. How can I help you Noel? It’s well deserved. Um, Adam, I have a Mazda BT 50 for sale. I see. It’s a November 22, the extra cab.

Um. It’s four wheel drive automatic. It’s got, uh, aluminum drop side tray and tow bars. It’s, um, it’s done 36, 000. But that’s been almost predominantly on the highway. It’s never been on gravel or not even engaged four wheel drive. It was purchased, um, to pull an off road caravan around the countryside. I see.

Circumstances changed and that scenario will not eventuate. I understand, alright. Uh, so it’s a 4×4, um, extra cab. Uh, is it, is it the XT model, Noel? The, the XT, yes. XT, alright, XT. Uh, so does it have a bull bar as well or just the, the tray and the table? No ballpark? No, just the, just those two. Alright. And would you like a, a private sale figure?

Yes, please. Alright. Uh, they are a bit challenging at the moment because the, the new car, um, dealers are really discounting these a lot at the moment, uh, because there’s a lot of stock of, of BT 50 out there. So you’ve just gotta be really careful what you price it at because, uh, people are walking into dealerships and getting up to $10,000 discount on.

on new BT 50s, uh, so I think, uh, based on, uh, the kilometers travelled, uh, it sounds like it’s a very nice vehicle, uh, I think you should be, uh, November 22, uh, I think you should be asking around that 36 to 37 for it. Uh huh. Alright. That’s, uh, that’s private. That’s for a private sale, that’s right. Uh, okay, and a deal of two or three less than that.

Yes, that’s right. Alright. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. That gives me a good working figure. Thank you, Noel. Thanks a lot. Appreciate your call. Bye bye. Thank you, Noel, for your call. Yeah, it’s a catch 22, isn’t it? Manufacturers need to manage their business as they see fit and, uh, and the discounts and bonuses that come into play.

Yeah. Um, That model in particular at the moment, uh, I’m talking to a lot of people that have been struggling to sell their late model BT 50s and that’s, that’s why. Yeah. There’s a lot of stock in dealerships at the moment. So they’re really pushing them and putting big bonuses on them to move them. Yeah.

That’s one of the advantages that you get when you ring in for a valuation on your motor car, Adam is still walking the streets, if I can put it that way, talking to actual owners, uh, on selling their, on purchasing their car and, and that Uh, sort of business that keeps him up to date with what’s happening in, in this very volatile industry.

And having said that, you’ve got about four minutes of our program left for you to, uh, get on the phone right now. So go to it, 5520 888 is the number to get a real time valuation on your motor car. Do you want to mention the, uh, good looking, smart The, the, the cyber truck. The cyber truck, which is on sale in the U.

S. at the moment. It is. For a crazy amount of money. Yeah, it’s, uh, it was released It is six figures, isn’t it? It is. Six figures, yes. Yeah, I think that it, it starts at about 80 something, but it goes up to a lot higher than that, depending on the range and power output and, and that sort of thing, but, uh, it, it, it’s doing a tour of the the country at the moment.

So it’s a left hand drive one that’s been imported from the United States. Uh, and it’s doing a tour of the Tesla showrooms around the country. Uh, so it was spotted on the roads cause it has temporary Queensland number plates on it. Okay. Um, Being a left hand drive car, it’s only a temporary plate, uh, so it’s, it’s really grabbing a lot of attention, that’s for sure.

Oh, it’s ugly. Exactly, for that reason. I wasn’t going to say that. It’s standard, not being unkind to the brand, but they obviously turned it out as an ugly car. Yes. And, uh, it just shows you people, uh, people It’s unique. It certainly is. It’s attracting attention that way. Well, it looks like something that you and I built in the garage.

It really does. It does. But for the next few weeks, I think it’s in the southern states, but I think at some point it will be coming to Brisbane as well. So if you’re keen, maybe have a look online and see whether you can find out the dates for that one. I’d be happy to. I don’t have too much interest in seeing it at this point, but uh, it certainly does.

The one thing it does do is grab attention because it looks like nothing else on the road. That’s ever been produced. That’s right. Okay. 55208888. If you’d like to get in quickly, you can still get a valuation on your motor car. And um, I think we started this one off last week and we didn’t get to it, uh, Honda, uh, have recorded, Not a good year.

No. They had a, a very, very tough, um, year last year with sales. Uh, actually we better take, uh, Henry call. Yes, we will. Good morning, Henry. Good morning, Henry. Good morning. Adam. How can I help you? Henry? I’ve got a, I’ve got a 2004 Camry achieve the dark red color. There were two reds. Oh yes, I know the, I know the color.

Yes. Uh, the, and it got 190,000. 641 on the clock, I’m sitting in the car at the moment. Alright, is it a 4 cylinder one or a V6, Henry? 4 cylinder. 4 cylinder, alright. And how’s the condition? Pretty well looked after is it? Pretty well, it’s been in the garage all of its life, 90 percent of its time. Okay, alright.

Inside is immaculate. Outside, not too bad. I’ve got one back corner with a, uh, car park scratched on one. I understand. Alright, now, would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade? Private sale, private sale. Alright, private sale. And the, and the trade as well. Alright. Uh, look, it sounds like a really, uh, Um, there’s just a limit to what they’re worth now because it is 20 years old.

Um, the kilometers are pretty good. Uh, I think if you were to sell that one privately, uh, you should be expecting around the, the 3 to 3 and a half thousand for it. Um, and if you were to trade it in, it’s probably, probably about a thousand to 1500 less than that. Oh, okay. Alright. And it takes it to zero.

Yeah, it does drop it away a bit, doesn’t it? Yeah, you’re right. Yeah. Yeah. Three to three and a half. Three to three and a half private. Yeah, I was thinking about three. If someone wanted, it’d be a good car for someone to spend three grand on. Yeah, it sounds like a good little car. All right, well, I appreciate your call, Henry.

I hope that information’s helped you. Very much. Thanks, Adam. Thank you. Bye now. Good on you, Henry. Thank you. And that just about wraps us up for this morning. And, uh, if, uh, our listeners would still like to get in contact with you after we close the program, your mobile number? Of course. Uh, 0404 290 617.

Thank you, mate. And I’ll look forward to being with you again next Tuesday. Thank you. What’s Your Car Worth has been sponsored by Adam Hall of Hall Group Consultancy.  You’re listening to 4CRB’s interviews and talkback series. What’s Your Car Worth is sponsored by Hall Group Consultancy. Contact Adam Hall. It’s the new, easy way to sell your car. Yes, it is the new, easy way to sell your car, and I’ve got a list in front of me of reasons why you should be calling Adam Hall.

But first of all, let’s say good morning to the man who’s been here for a hundred years, and, uh, in the same seat, and he’s got the same book as well. It’s good morning to Adam Hall. I didn’t forget it this time. Good morning, Wade. Nice to be back with you again, and to our listeners, we invite you to call on 5520 888 for this very important half an hour that you’re going to listen to now, and that is getting a valuation on your motor car for resale, and resale in a market that is going up.

and down and sideways and all over the place. Certainly is. And it’s still coming to grips with an adjustment of electric motorcars as well. And that just sort of makes it even more, creates even more turmoil. Well it’s just such a shift as well. I’m talking to a lot of people now that, So many people are getting out of the likes of small hatchbacks and getting into something that’s a little bit higher off the ground.

That’s, that’s also having an impact. There’s, uh, what engine should I buy? And those sort of questions. Yes, there’s so many considerations in buying your car today. That’s right. So many. So there’s a lot of questions that people are asking and that, uh, the decisions are. having an impact on values of cars that we used to buy, say, five to ten years ago.

Mm. Because, uh, there’s definitely a big shift in, in, uh, Yes, it’s a huge shift, and, uh, our simple little program, uh, has evolved over some twelve or thirteen years, and, uh, we’re meeting the need for it. for you to get the right price for your motor car and it’s never been more important for you as a car owner looking to sell your car to have the right price because you could sit on one of the key on the websites, for example, for months on end and in that time the market could go up.

It could fall, it could rise, it could go anywhere. That’s right. So getting the right price for you to turn your car over and get into a brand new car is the way to go. And we have that to offer to you this morning. And the very important number for you to call right now is double five. 2 0 8 8, 8 8. And if you’re wanting to get, uh, a revaluation for insurance or Centrelink purposes, Adam can do that for you as well.

If you’ve got the big beast in the garage and every time you walk into the garage you think, oh gee, how much is sitting there? Let Adam tell you how much is sitting there. Well, one of the things, uh, I was talking to somebody yesterday, uh, that I purchased their car because they’re really just not using it.

And we worked out with the, the insurance, the registration, um, maintenance, and this was just a, a small four cylinder car. So if you’ve got a big, uh, bigger car than that, it costs a lot more. Yes. But we worked out it was at least, at least 4, 000 to 5, 000 a year. That’s just CRM. CRM. Just CRM. Not even doing anything.

So, yes, it’s a worthwhile, it’s worthwhile doing some thinking. So we’re here for you this morning on 5520 8888. Okay. Let’s have a little, a little chat on the, uh, on the market update and, uh, do you want to start with the 60th anniversary? Yes. How about that? That’s why we talk about the, uh, It’s the 60th anniversary this year of the Ford Mustang.

And what a great car. Oh, amazing car. Vroom, vroom. I look, I looked at another one a couple of weeks ago. It was a four cylinder one. The, uh, Oh, that’s the one. Throaty. Yeah. Throaty. Ha ha ha ha. We, we better take this. We’ve got our first caller. It’s good morning to Alan. Alan, go ahead. What car can you, uh, tell us about?

Good morning, Alan. Good morning, I’ve got a, uh, 2015 Mazda CX 3, just the basic model, uh, 90k. Alright, 90, 000, so it’s just the Neo model, and did you say it was white in colour? Yeah, white CX 3. White in colour, good, good colour, and Excellent condition. Excellent. Alright. Uh, would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade?

Yeah, please. Alright. Uh, I think if you were to sell that one, uh, privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 14 to 14 and a half for it. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it would be a couple of thousand less than that. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. You’re welcome. Thank you, Alan. Yes, thank you for your call, Alan.

Okay, let’s keep the calls coming in. 55208888 is the number for you to get that very valuable valuation on your motor car for trading it in or doing a private sale or whatever you plan to do with it. 55208888 is the number. We might finish that Mustang story. Ah, yes, the throaty Mustang story. Stand . So 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

Hey, hey Adam. A lot of our listeners wouldn’t say, what’s he talking about? Throaty? . What is this? A new language or something that, that beautiful sound, , the sound that comes out of that, those exhaust pipes have been referred to for a. A hundred years has been a throaty exhaust. A throaty exhaust. That’s right.

Okay . So, uh, the car was released, uh, at the World Fair in 1964, so that 64 that brings us to, uh, 60 years. But, uh, I had a further look into it and there’s over. 10 million of Mustangs that have been sold. I’d say the fair majority of them would be in the U. S. Yes. Uh, but that’s an incredible, uh, milestone.

Milestone. 60 years and over 10 million cars. It’s amazing, an amazing record for, uh, Ford. It is. Mmm. The Ford of, uh, their, uh, They’re releasing a 60th anniversary model and apparently you can order the car with the the retro gauges from the original car. So that’d be a quite a nice nice thing to look at.

What a way to celebrate. Absolutely. All of those sales. Okay, 55208888 is the number for you to get a valuation on your motor car this morning with Adam Hall and Market, uh, I thought we might talk about We’re always talking about numbers of cars that Sell in Australia, and I talk about that every month, but there’s some Statistics about what we spent last year on cars, and that’s it’s it’s incredible.

This is this is frightening It is so Australians spent 67 billion dollars on on new cars last year Which is an incredible number apparently the the average price of a new car now is Just under 60, 000. The average. So that’s gone up a lot over, over the years. Uh, it’s incredible that, uh, we’re getting to that number.

So just over 60, 000, uh, per car, uh, some of the top cars. So the, the Ford Ranger, there was 4. 3 billion spent on, on the new Ford Ranger. Uh, the Hilux was 3. 5 billion. Uh, the Tesla Model Y, which is the SUV. Two and a half billion dollars worth of those, uh, and the Land Cruiser 300, uh, which is not, doesn’t really, uh, generally get into the top ten, but because it’s such an expensive vehicle, uh, there was two billion dollars worth of, uh, Land Cruisers sold.

And you can imagine the stamp duty and the GST, they’d be in the billions as well. I don’t have the statistics for luxury car tax because we don’t, we don’t know exactly what was sold that, um, was luxury car tax affected, but, uh, just in GST that was paid to the government was 6. 09 billion. Billion dollars.

Billion dollars. And then in, uh, state, um, stamp duties going to the state governments, two and a half to three billion dollars just there. In just incredible numbers. We’re not even thinking about fuel excise. And you’re talking about the fuel, the advertising, insurance, insurance. Oh my goodness, gracious me.

Alright, all our loans are free. We’re waiting for you to call. double five two zero double eight double eight is the number for you to get on and get a valuation on your valuable motor car. And um, a couple of, uh, EV manufacturers are joining forces to share their, uh, EV technology. Well, they’re, they’re mainstream manufacturers.

It’s a Nissan and Honda in Japan. They’re I’ve announced a strategic partnership to share their electric technology. So, pooling their resources and those advancements in that technology, they’ll share together. A lot of companies do that, particularly when there’s new, uh, technology coming through. So it’ll be interesting to see, uh, how they, uh, move forward with, uh, this issue that a lot of people have with the range of these batteries.

That’s the big one with them, isn’t it? It is. So I think, uh, that should be a good one. And a good one. And we’ve got Jane on the phone. Jane, what’s your card, Jane? Go ahead. Good morning, Jane. Good morning. How are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? That’s good. Um, just wondering, um, on a price on a Nissan X Trail 2006.

Um, it’s got, uh, two hundred and, uh, what is it? Two hundred and seventy two thousand on the clock. 2 72. Alright, now in, uh, T 30, T 30 model. All right. Uh, now in 2006, uh, there was, there was a limited edition. Is it just the ST model or, or is it an, there’s an STS, which has a sunroof, uh, or there’s, yes, it does have a sunroof.

Yes. Okay. I, I assume it would be the SDS. All right. Mm-Hmm. . And is it automatic? Jane? Yes. Automatic. Automatic as well. Alright, uh, how’s the condition? Is it pretty well looked after? Um, yeah. Pretty good? Yep. Pretty good? Yep. Alright. Now, would you like a private sale figure for that one? Um, both, yeah. Alright, so private sale, the kilometres are, I wouldn’t say they’re high for the year, but they’re just, just high, so there’s a limit to what they’re worth once you get to those sort of kilometres.

Uh, I think as a private sale, probably around that three to three and a half thousand. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be, I’d say it’ll be about two thousand as a trade. 2000. All right. Okay. Well, thank you for that. You’re welcome. Thank you Jane. I appreciate your call. Yes, thank you Jane. Another happy customer there.

And you can be a happy customer as well by calling now on 5520 8888 and getting a valuation or a re evaluation for reinsurance on your motor car for Centrelink or insurance purposes. And it’s good morning to, is that Bill? It is. Good morning, Bill. Oh, good morning. How can I help you? Um, I’ve got a November 2015, um, Holden Cruise SRIV, uh, it’s got a hundred and forty one thousand K, all wheel steering garage, just like new.

Alright, a hundred and forty one thousand, uh, and is it automatic, Bill? Yeah, automatic, yes. Automatic, uh, is it the hatchback or the sedan? Hatchback. Hatchback. Got all the letters in. That sort of thing. Yeah. Alright. So SRIV and sounds like it’s in pretty good order for the age and kilometres. Uh, would you like a private sale as well as trade figure?

Both please. It’d be fine. Alright. I think, uh, if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be asking around the 6, 000 mark for it. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be a couple of thousand less than that. Okay. All right. That helps me. I’ve got my eye on another car, but I don’t know whether he’s asking too much money for it.

I don’t know whether he could help me out with that. Sure. What are you looking at? It’s a Mercedes Benz, um, 2014. Uh, eighty, eighty five thousand, say. Is it a C Class Mercedes, or? Yeah, it’s a C Class 250 diesel. C 250 diesel, and it’s the coupe, alright. Uh, sorry, how many kilometres has it travelled? Um, eighty five.

Eighty five, alright. And what price are they asking for it? 25. 25. All right. Uh, I think it’s a little high. Uh, I think somewhere around that 22 to 23 would be a fair price. Yeah, that’s what I thought too. All right. Okay. Okay. You’re welcome Bill. Thank you for your call. All right. We’ve got a Peter on the line.

Good morning, Peter. Good morning, Adam. How are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? I’ve got a bit of an old girl I’d like a price on. Not the wife, it’s the car. I’m going to say, be careful. I don’t know what I was going to say to that. How can I help you, Peter? She wouldn’t devalue the motor vehicle if she goes with it.

Ah, very good, very good. You got out of that, you got out of that, Peter. I’m good at that. What have you got there? It’s a Camry Altice, 07 model. 2007? 372 on the clock. Oh gee, 372, alright. Like me, it’s been around for a while and it looks a bit like it. Alright, 372, uh, and, uh, A condition, is it reasonable for the kilometres?

Reasonable. Okay. Yeah. Alright. And are you just wanting to sell it privately? Look, I think as a trade in there wouldn’t be a lot of value there. No. But if it’s, if it’s running and air conditioning works and all those sorts of things, which with Camrys they tend to go forever, uh, I think probably asking price around that maybe two to two and a half thousand.

Okay, that’s a big help. Thanks very much. You’re welcome, Peter. Thank you for your call. Bye. Alright, we’ve got, uh, we’ve got Lorraine on the line. Hello. Good morning, Lorraine. How can I help you? Hi. Well, actually that, uh, gentleman stole my thunder, I think. I’ve got it at, well, a little bit, a little bit. I think mine’s a little better.

Well, in saying that, it’s 2005, but it’s a Grande Camry Toyota, of course. Um, but someone did tell me that, don’t just sell it for a normal Toyota. It’s a, um, it’s a, I don’t know, particular one. It’s, um, a Melbourne. Commonwealth Dames. Oh really? One. Ah. Two. But that’s people on the, um, on the outside of the car.

Ah, OK. It would have been a limited edition which came with a few little, um, few little extras I would say. Yeah. Alright, so it’s a 2005 Camry Grande. That’s the previous shape to the 2007 model. The code for that one is CV 36. That’s my memory. cv. CV 36. That, that’s what you, is that Victor cv? Yes, that’s right.

And the, the 2007 was the CV 40. Alright. How many, how many kilometers is your one traveled? 188,000 180 8. Alright, that’s pretty reasonable kilometers. Uh, and is it a V six one or the full cylinder? Uh, B six. B six. All right, so the three liter, uh, and are you wanting to sell it privately? Are you Yes.

Alright. I think, uh, uh, it’s the top of the range, so it’s, and the kilometers are pretty reasonable for a 2005. Uh, I think if it’s in, if it’s in good condition, you should be asking around the five to 6,000 mark for it. Oh, that’s cool. I’ve been setting in, it’s in at the moment for um, registration, you know, roadworthy.

Yeah. So I’ve actually Oh, I understand. Yeah. Yeah, I think around, I’m not saying it will sell for that, but I think that’s what you should ask. In that five, because it sounds like it’s in good condition, so, and the kilometres are pretty good for a 2005, being nearly 19 years old. Alright? Okay, five to six.

That’s correct. Thank you so much Adam. You’re welcome Lorraine. Thank you. Bye bye. Bye. Yep. Bye Lorraine and we’ll go from Lorraine to Steffi. Good morning, Steffi. Good morning, Adam. How can I help you? I have a 2009 Toyota Kluger. I see, uh, it has, um, it’s a top of the range. One, A-K-A-K-S, something. It’s, uh, leather trim.

Alright, so it’ll be the k, the, the top of the range is the grande, but the one up, oh, sorry. Uh, it should be A KXS. Is that right? So, yeah, that’s it. H one KX s. Alright. Yeah. It ha, it it’s, um, black or black. It has black leather. Black leather. All right. Uh, and um, is it all wheel drive or the two wheel drive?

Um, all wheel drive. All wheel drive. All wheel drive V6. All right. The 3. 5 V6. And how many kilometres has it travelled, Steffi? Um, 230. 230. Yeah, but it’s been fully serviced. I’ve just put all new tyres on them. All right. Drives really lovely. All right. Have you had the car a long time? I’ve had it probably 12 years.

Oh, OK. All right. Yeah. Yeah. All right, uh, with 230 on it, uh, and you’re wanting a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Yeah. All right. Um, no, just a private sale, Adam, because I’ve already bought a new LandCruiser. Oh, I see. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Congratulations. Nice car. Thank you. Yeah. I think, uh, because of the kilometers, I think, uh, to sell privately, I think around the 9, 000 mark would be the right price to ask.

Okay. All right. 9, 000. Yeah, that’s good. All right. Well, thank you, Stephanie. Thank you, Adam. I hope that information’s helped you. It does. Thank you very much. Thank you. Bye bye. Okay, thank you Lorraine, and all our lines are now free. Adam, just a couple of weeks ago, I got a real shock when I had, uh, got a registration from, uh, A little scooter that I own that gets me around the coast. It went up 150 in one year on the registration and it was all due to the insurance component.

Compulsory third party. Compulsory third party, which a lot of us don’t think about it. Just automatically, whatever you’ve got. So it might be something for our listeners to just be aware of. You know, registration is expensive enough without the insurance industry. That’s a big change for a scooter in one year.

It’s a big jump, and imagine what it would be for a vehicle. Yes. There’s going to be a lot of scared people out there at the present time. Yeah. So we’ve got another caller. It’s good morning to Peter. Peter, go ahead. Good morning Peter. Good morning Adam. Good morning Adam. Uh, Lexus. ES300H, 2016, with the enhancement pack.

Alright, so is it a luxury, or sports luxury, or? It’s a luxury. Luxury, alright. With the enhancement pack. Enhancement pack. 58, 000 km, and it’s like new. Sounds like a very, very nice car. I’ve actually just been pricing a 2020 model yesterday. So, uh, I’ll just have, and it’s got similar kilometers to yours.

What, uh, what color is your one, Peter? It’s a, uh, Metallic grey, I’m not sure of the technical name. I know the colour. Alright. It’s a grey, uh, and it’s a luxury 58, 000. Alright. With the enhancement pack. Okay. Alright. Now, uh, would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Private sale figure.

Private. Alright. Uh, I think, uh, to sell privately, uh, you should be asking around the 35 to 36 for it. 35, 36. Excellent. That’s very good. I appreciate it. All right. Thanks Adam. Thank you, Peter. Uh, we’ve got a Noel on the line. Good morning, Noel. Yes. Good morning, Adam. Yeah, just a couple of quick ones. Um, I’m looking to downsize for a, an old, uh, Toyota Camry, uh, 2005 V6 probably sell privately.

It’s auto, air conditioning, everything’s working, cloth seat. Yeah, about 220. Just an idea of what I probably should be asking for that. Yeah, yeah, yep. That’s fair enough. The other question I’m asking and I’m looking around for the availability of I’m trying to put up my smaller car into my garage, and I’m looking for a, um, I’m looking at the two vehicles which will fit the garage, being a Hyundai i20 hatch, around about the 2018 model, as against the Kia Rio hatch, the 2020 model.

What would I expect it to pay for? Well the, well in 2018 there wasn’t a, an I 20, um, it became the, it became the, well the Hyundai Accent was the smallest car in, in the Hyundai, uh, so the, a Hyundai Accent, which is a similar size to the Rio, uh, In a 2018, with reasonably low kilometres, you’d buy one of those for around 15.

Uh, and the, if you’re looking at a Kia Rio in a 2020, um, probably around that, um, around that 17 mark, would, um, would buy a good one of those. Alright. Okay, what if I went up to the Hyundai, when did that, um, i20 come out? The I 20, um, finished in, in, uh, 2015. 2015? That’s right. I 20 did it? Yeah, that’s correct.

Alright. And then it went into what? The Accent? The Accent, correct. Okay. Alright. And for a 2020 model, and that would be what? Around? Uh, similar, similar price to what the Kia is. Similar price? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Alright. Alright. And that’s all I wanted to talk to you about. Availability of those, what number would I ring in?

Okay, so it’s 0404 0404 290 290 617 617 That’s it. Thank you Noel. Appreciate your call. Bye bye. Bye bye Noel. Okay. We’ve got Iris on the phone. Good morning Iris. Good morning. How can I help you Iris? Iris? Um, I’ve got a Toyota, uh, Corolla accent. Okay. 2011. 2011, and it’s done to, uh, 1 1 5 6,000 1 5 6 kilos.

All right. And it’s a hatchback. Is it? Yes. All right. Uh, 156, 000. Uh, private sale for that one would be around the, uh, seven to, uh, about the 7, 000 mark. Uh, and as a trade, uh, figure, it’d be a couple of thousand less than that. All right. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Iris. All right. We’ve got Sophia on the line.

Good morning, Sophia. Good morning. Ah, good morning, how are you? Very, very well, thank you. What have you got there? Now, what’s happened, I have, uh, Holden Cruz 2004, and only did 140. Okay. If I do a trade in, what do you think, how much? Alright, well the 140 is a trade in, uh, probably going to be around the two and a half to, around two and a half to three thousand.

That’s not fair, so what about, uh, Uh, private would probably be around, uh, four and a half to five. Yeah, that’s better. Okay. Now, could I inquire about that car, Mustang Ford, how much is that, you know? Our new Mustang, uh, is about 80, 000. Oh, no, no, you were advertising a Mustang, Mustang Ford, is that the one new?

I’m not really sure. Adam was talking about a limited, a limited version. Yes, a limited car. Okay, sorry Sophia, we’ve got to move on. Okay, cheers now. Last call, we’ve got Adam. Good morning, Adam. What a great name that is, Adam. Adam, you take all the time you want, mate. How can I help you? Uh, that’s me. How can I help you?

Adam? . That’s you. mate, mate, mate. Uh, look, I’m only just thinking about selling this. Um, what have, so if I do it, you know, uh, it’s a, it’s a 2009, 200 series Land Cruiser. 200. All right. Uh, the eight, um, turbo Diesel Petrol. Oh, it’s a petrol one. Is it? No petrol? Yeah. Petrol. Leo. Petrol. Yep. Um, how many kilometers?

Yeah. Just done 218. 218. Just clicked over, yeah. It is a G cell. Yes. Alright. GXL. Alright. Uh, being the V8 petrol, uh, I think, uh, it’s going to be in the early to mid thirties as a, as a private, so I’ll ask. Okay. Early to mid thirties. Yep. Thank you, Adam. Appreciate it. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. That’s okay, Adam.

Thank you, Adam. That’s a terrific call to finish our program on. Once again, mate, thank you so much for your time. We got you working this morning again. Certainly did. Ah, yes. And just quickly for all of those listeners that didn’t have a chance to get onto you, your phone number? Uh, 0404. 0404. 2 9 0 6 1 7.

But if you would like to talk to Adam this morning and have your car valued live on air for sale trade insurance purposes, or Centrelink purposes, we’d love to hear from you.

Don’t leave it to the end of the program. 0755208888 is the number for you to do that. And, uh, we’ve got our first caller already, Adam, do you want to dive into that? Let’s do that, we don’t want to keep Gary waiting. Alright, Gary, good morning to you, and ask your question of Adam.

Good morning, Gary. Yes, yes, good morning, this is a, uh, Centrelink graduation. Oh yes, what have you got, Gary? I’ve got an old Nashua MY18LS. And the mileage is 38, 800. 38, 800, and is it the hatchback or a sedan, Gary? Sedan. Sedan, alright. Uh, 2018, uh, automatic, I’m assuming? Yes, yes. Alright. It’s big, yes. Alright, for, for settling purposes, uh, I think you should be putting down the value at around 11.

That’s right. Okay. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Gary. Bye bye. Well, there you go. Gary is the early bird. He got the worm. You could do that too. 0755208888 is the number to have your car valued live on air. All right, Adam. We’ve got that market update that we didn’t get through last week.

We’ve only got a little way through that and, uh, Wayne would be upset if I didn’t finish it. So I might, uh, we talked about it being, uh, an all time record, uh, for March last month. So it was up. Uh, 2. 5 percent on the all time record of 2018. Wow. Uh, so I won’t dive too much into that, but, uh, we, we got as far down to the models.

So I’ll just go through the models, uh, the top five. Uh, so the Ford Ranger, uh, again, finished number one. They’re really dominating there now, and really, uh, pushing the Toyota HiLux back. Uh, I think they cheated, didn’t you say, Adam? They brought in a couple of containers worth just to get the numbers up.

Well, it’s, it’s, it seems to me that, uh, the market’s really spoken now because they’ve really had a consistent result all year. Yes. This year. So I think the renting the ship, um, was, helped them get over the line last year. Yeah. But, uh, they, they’ve, uh, maintained that spot going forward, uh, in number, uh, the second, uh, spot, uh, belonged to the RAV4.

They had a, a, a big influx of, um, prior orders. So people have been waiting 12 to 18 months to get these hybrid, uh, RAV fours. And a lot of those arrived last month. So there was 5,070 RAV fours delivered in the month. Wow. Which I think would be a record for the RAV4. Uh, then, uh, the, in third spot was the Tesla Model Y.

Yes. That’s why we see so many of those on the road. There was 4, 379 of those delivered. And then, right down in fourth spot was the Hilux, which has been number one for such a long time. Uh, there was 3, 995 of those sold. Uh, that’s, uh, uh, That’s a car that’s really getting to the end of its, uh, its life cycle as far as there’ll be a new one coming, uh, next year.

Yes. So, uh, it’s, it makes sense that they’re starting to drop away a little bit. Okay. Uh, and then, uh, in fifth spot was the Mitsubishi Outlander. Now the, the one that, uh, that Wayne loves is, uh, propulsion. So I want to go through propulsion . So what pushes these cars forward? Uh, and the petrol cars, uh, were 47,761.

Uh, that was down 4.9%. Uh, diesel was up 5.5% for 31,000. Uh, hybrid. Uh, 165. 9 percent up. So that’s that delivery of hybrid technology that really came through last month. Uh, electric vehicles was up, uh, 58%. There’s 10, 400 of those. And plug in hybrid had a reasonable month as well, 1, 412 of those, which is up 148%.

Uh, Now we’ll go down to, uh, countries where these cars were built. Uh, Japan, uh, number one again, they’re going, uh, very well. 33, 388 were delivered. Uh, Thailand in second spot with 24, 233. Uh, there was a, uh, between China and Korea, they were fairly close last year. They, uh, quite close. China only just overtook Korea I think about mid to, mid to late in the year but now there’s a pretty decent gap.

China is 17, 653 and Korea 13, 755 so there’s a fairly big gap between those now. And then Germany in fifth spot. Uh, 4, 813, which was, um, just up 4. 4%. Wow. They’re interesting figures, aren’t they? Yeah, they are. There’s a lot of, uh, big numbers there. But I think the, the thing to take out of that is a lot of people are asking me, uh, Should I buy a petrol car?

And the answer is there’s still a lot of people buying petrol. It’s still number one. It’s still going to be around for a fair amount of time yet. I still see the service stations being built all, all around the place. So it’s not something that’s going to go away anytime soon. Yeah, okay. And look, while our power prices are very high, I always worry about that, that equation.

It’s great when you, round about 10 years for battery life, it’s When we, when we start getting to that eight year mark, we’ll start to see how this is going to pan out. Is that how you see it, Adam? I do. Uh, and that’s, that’s one of the concerns that people are having about buying a second hand electric car and why it’s having impact.

And a big impact on the values of them is that there’s that concern there. What about if this battery goes, what’s it going to cost me to replace it? Will my car be worth anything if the, if the battery’s gone? So it’s a, it’s a challenging time. I think, uh, at, at some point. The, the cost of those batteries will come down, uh, the cost of the cars will come down as well, and it’ll level out a bit, but there’s so much uncertainty there right now, and that’s what’s having an effect on whether people want to buy them or not.

And we’ve seen the wonderful ad on television with helicopters and media personalities chasing the Toyota around town. Toyota, have an EV! They’ve, they’ve got one. They’ve, uh, dipped their toes in the, in the water. That’s the BZ 4X. Yes. So it really rolls off the tongue, that one, 4X. What have you got? I’ve got a BZ 4X.

So that’s, we’ve talked about this before, but that’s, um, a similar size to the, the RAV4. Uh, starts at about, uh, around 70, uh, about 75, 000 by the, that’s, uh, Doesn’t sound much when you say it fast, but it’s a lot of money. Uh, and then, uh, I think it tops out at about, uh, just over 80, 000 for the, for the top spec all drive model.

Um, but Toyota, uh, they’re, they’re not pushing too hard into fully electric. They’ve, they believe that hybrid is the near future. Yes. Uh, particularly for Australia. It’s the best of both worlds, isn’t it? It is, it is. And that’s why we’re seeing some enormous numbers with, with hybrid sales. Because, uh, there was a time there where it was, they weren’t being manufactured in the numbers.

Yes. That they needed to be, but that’s starting to really catch up now. And we’ve got another, a lot of other brands that are, are now releasing hybrid models as well. Sure. So, I think we’ll see more of those coming into the market. Alright, well this is a Talkback program, and normally we would have lots of phone calls by now, so you’re either listening intently, or you’re on holidays, or coming back from school holidays.

If you’d like to talk to Adam and have your car valued live on air, 0755 208888 is the number. He will Uh, value your car for trade, resale insurance, or Centrelink purposes. So there’s a lot of things you can ask him about there. And, uh, get a valuation live on air. Zero seven double 5 2 0 8 8. Double eight.

Okay. Cheapest car comparison. Adam. Oh, look, the, this is a story I read, uh, a few days ago and because we’ve, we’ve been talking about how much new cars have gone up. Recently, the last couple of years, uh, they, they have changed, you can’t buy, there’s only one new car under 20, 000 that you can buy now, uh, and I think prior to, uh, 2020 with, um, that COVID time, uh, you could buy, I think about 18 different models under 20, 000.

20, 000. So it just goes to show what’s um, what’s changing that a couple of years. But there’s been a comparison of the cheapest car 25 years ago. So back then, and I remember these, they, they, It was sold in enormous numbers. It was called the Daihatsu Sirion. Okay. It was a little four door hatchback. Uh, and it was 11, 990 on the road.

Uh, but it didn’t come with air conditioning. And it was a, it was a manual transmission. So you had to add the air conditioning. And I think if you added the air conditioning, it wouldn’t go very fast because it was a one litre engine. Wow. So a tiny little, uh, three cylinder engine. So if you compare that to today, uh, now you can buy, uh, a MG3, which is automatic, it comes with air conditioning, it’s got alloy wheels, and it’s got all sorts of tech features that wouldn’t have been available, uh, back then in the Syrian, let alone something that was probably 50, 000 back then, uh, and that’s 18, on the road.

Now when you do the um, the comparison with inflation, that original 11, 990 equates to about 23, 500 now. Yes. So if you, if you look at that in isolation, what we get value wise for a new car today is far better than what we did in 1999. Wow. That’s very interesting isn’t it? Mmm, it is. And aren’t I in there anywhere?

Well, Hyundai back then, uh, they had, uh, they’d just raised the price of their, remember the Hyundai XL? Yes. They were Thousands of them. There was thousands and thousands of them. I remember, uh, dealerships back then, they had to have a waiting room for people coming to order those cars. Really? So they had People would have to sit in the lounge and wait for a salesperson to be available to, to order a car.

So they were, they were a very popular car, but they didn’t have a lot of features in them, just a, a nice, uh, I guess a pretty good shape for back then. Uh, but again, didn’t have air conditioning standards, so you had to add that in. But a very popular car. I remember, uh, I remember someone characterizing it as the, uh, the Volkswagen of the 90s and 2000s.

That’s right. Like the Volkswagen. The Beetle. The people’s car. Yes. And boy, oh boy, didn’t they build a, uh, a wonderful car manufacturing company on the back of that. Certainly did. There you go. And nowadays, uh, the police are using them. Oh, well, uh, that’s the thing. It’s, uh, if you look at that, that brand, where they’ve come, that really, the Hyundai XL was.

Was it? Yes. They had the odd, uh, other car available. There wasn’t many others that sold. But, uh, what they’ve built now, they’ve got all sorts of different models in, in all sorts of different segments. Uh, and they’re always generally in the top five for, for sales and quality has improved incredibly.

Incredibly. Uh, And they’ve come with just about everything, don’t they? Alright, 0755208888 is the number if you’d like your car valued live on air with Adam and you can have that valued for sale, trade, or for insurance or Centrelink purposes. We’d love to hear from you, 55208888 is the number. Best selling EV.

Yeah, I thought we’d, um, we’d go through that today because, uh, a lot of people have, uh, I get a lot of calls from people asking me about, should I stay with petrol or should I go electric? But then when we get onto that electric question, which one should I buy? So I thought I’d go through, uh, the best selling ones at the moment, uh, and that is in all the numbers for 2024.

Uh, so Tesla’s still. Very much at the top and I think when you think electric car, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla. Yes. And now we’ve got all these other manufacturers that are coming through with other models. So the, the, the Tesla Y, uh, that’s the SUV version of the Tesla. Uh, so far this year they’ve sold 6, 835 of those.

Uh, so they’re selling in pretty strong numbers. Uh, second is the Model 3. Which is the, uh, the sedan type of vehicle. Uh, that’s, uh, 5, 954 of those have been sold. Should we, um, cut in and maybe take Alan’s call? He’s been waiting. We can come back. We’ve got Alan now on the phone. Good morning to you, Alan.

Good morning, Alan. G’day. How can I help you, Alan? So, I’ve got a 2014 Hyundai ix35 Ah, yes. It’s a petrol one is it? Petrol, yeah. Alright. Uh, is it just the base model? Is it the active model? Uh, it’s a base model. It’s a base model, alright. And it’s 2 wheel drive as well? Yeah, it’s um, 2 wheel drive, petrol, white, Has it got many kilometres on it, Alan?

95, 95, 000. 95, alright. Um, and it’s automatic as well? Auto, yep. Alright. It will drive auto. And how would you rate the condition? Is it pretty well looked after? Uh, Yeah, it’s very well. There’s no scratches. It’s always been garaged. Um, the leather is good. Everything’s serviced. It’s, yeah. It’s, um, one of the better ones I see for sure.

Okay. Given that it’s, um, got leather trim, Alan, is it possible that it could be the SE model? SE, yeah. Okay, SE. Alright. Alright. So 95, 000. Now, would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade? Yeah. Um, yeah, I suppose. Thank you. All right. Uh, I think if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 13 to 14 mark for it.

Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be about two and a half thousand less than that. Right. Okay. Yeah. All right. No, that’s wonderful. Thank you for your call. All right. Thank you, Alan. We’d love to hear from you. 0 7 double 5 2 0 double 8 double 8. If you’d like your car valued alive on air by Adam for just general sale, trade insurance purposes or Centrelink purposes, he’d love to hear from you.

Alright, back to our, uh, best selling EVs. Best selling EVs. Alright, so I’ve, um. The two top spots were Teslas, the Model Y and the Model 3. Uh, in third spot is the BYD ATO3.

Gee, there’s some strange names for these, isn’t there now? Yes, that’s right. I’ve been in a BYD and they absolutely rave about them, the owners. Yeah. Uh, so 2, 220 of those have been sold. They’re quite a popular car. And they’re in a Probably a more affordable price point. So that’s why they’re selling quite well.

So, what, what do they start at if you don’t, do you know? Around the, in the 45 to 50 range. Okay. So that’s, that’s a pretty good sweet spot for an electric car. Yes. Still sounds like a lot of money to me, but it’s Yes, me too, but But for electric cars, it’s, it’s quite good value. Uh, and then the BYD Seal. Uh, I don’t know whether you’ve seen one of those on the road, but To me, it looks a lot like the Model 3 Tesla.

Right. Looks like they, um, may have copied that a little. Copied that one a little, yeah. 1, 573 of those have been sold. Uh, the MG4, which is the little, um, well, it’s kind of like a Corolla sized electric car. Uh, 1, 335 of those, uh, the BYD Dolphin, 688, uh, the Kia EV6, uh, 589 of those, and then the Hyundai Kona electric, 502 of those.

That’s amazing. Yeah. So the, uh, Hyundai Kona is, is still in there. All right. We’ve got another call. Here’s Ron. Good morning to you, Ron. Ask your question about him. Good morning, Ron. Good morning team. Thanks for that information. You’re welcome. How can we help you? Always interesting to listen to. Thank you.

I have a 2014 Space Cab Ranger. It’s the white one as always. And um, with the aluminium tray. It is a 4 wheel drive. It’s got 199 clicks on it. 199. Okay. And the belt’s just been done. Alright. So it’s a It’s in good, tidy condition with all the extra bits you put on it like the bull bar and uh Alright.

Alright. Um So it’s, is it an Excel, um, or, or an XLT or? I believe it’s the X Excel xl and it’s a 2.2 liter. Is it the four cylinder Ty? No, it’s a three. Uh, 3.2. So it’s a three. 3.2. The, okay. Alright. Chrome grill and the bits. Alright. 3.2. Uh, uh, 1 99. And is it manual or automatic? It’s an auto order. Okay. And one.

Nine. Nine. And how’s the condition Ron? Is it pretty well looked after? Really, really tidy. Got the wild track wheels on it, the eight inch wheels with brand new tires. Sounds like a good car. Now, would you like a private sale value as well as a trade? Yes, please. All right. Uh, I think if you were to sell it, uh, privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 18 to 19 for it.

Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’s going to be about 3, 000 less than that. Well done. Thank you for your information. Thank you, Ron. Bye bye. Thank you, Ron. All right. We’ll move now to Terry. Good morning to you, Terry. Good morning, Terry. Hello. Good morning, Adam. Um, yeah, it’s just an inquiry about, I’ve got a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT, uh, 2 litre, uh, dual cab and, um, just inquiring about, uh, insurance purposes.

Okay. Insurance, how much it would be, yeah, do you think it would be worth to insure? Alright, so it’s an XLT, uh, automatic, uh, and it’s a 4×4. Yes. Four by four. And how many kilometers does it travel, Terry? Uh, it’s travel 66,840 kilometers 66. Eight 40. All right. Uh, yep. And just for insurance purposes, is that right?

Uh, that’s correct, yes. Okay. Have you got any accessories on it, like ball bars or tow bars? Um, oh, it’s got a towbar standard, but. Yeah, I’ve got a canopy, and I’ve got roof racks on top of the canopy, um, and I’ve got um, um, You know, towing mirrors, the um, the big ones. Oh yeah, the big ones. Yep. Yep. Okay. Yep.

And um, that, that’s about it really. Only, only just the, the headlight covers. Okay. The usual thing for protection. Alright. No problem. Alright. I think, uh, I think for insurance purposes, uh, you should have the, uh, value at around that 42 to 43. Okay. Alright. 43. Yes, no problem at all. Okay. Okay. Thank you Terry.

I appreciate that. You’re welcome. Thank you. Appreciate your call. Bye bye. All right, we’ve got a little late flutter. So double five two zero double eight double eight is the number We’ve only got a few minutes left in the program So you’re going to have to be quick if you’d like your car valued live on air We were in the middle of, did we finish best selling EV?

We did. Okay. Electric car value. Yeah, I thought we might touch on this. We did a little bit before, but, um, I read a story about, there’s been a study about the resale value of electric cars and how they’re going in comparison to, um, combustion engine cars. And. I don’t want to, I don’t want to say this because I don’t want to put people off them.

Sure. But it’s just what’s happening right now because of this uncertainty over how long is the battery going to last, um, all those different things that people are really concerned about. But right now, uh, the electric cars in the two to four year range are losing three times more value than a traditional combustion vehicle.

Gotcha. Engine. That’s very interesting, isn’t it? It is. So they’re selling very well, uh, in the new car space, but once they get back out in the second hand market, uh, it’s a lot more challenging. And are they more expensive to insure? They are, at this point. And that just comes down to cost of repair is a lot.

A lot more costly to repair. Well, everything’s shoehorned in. That’s right. Had a look at a exploded view of a Tesla and went, wow, the batteries are all under your feet and Yes. And uh, how do you fix it? If you, even in an accident, you’re sitting there going, how do they repair that? Mm mm-Hmm. . So, but anyway, it’s interesting.

But, uh, I guess over time they’ll will learn and, and get better at this. And the, the. Value will be there at some point. It’s just that the early adopters of this technology Yes. are certainly paying for it. Yes. Uh, the, uh, days to sell on market is another, uh, factor as well. Uh, the average time to sell a, a two year old, uh, electric car is 75 days.

And that’s compared with 52 days for a regular car. Wow. So it’s actually taking more time to sell as well, as well as dropping more in value. Yes. Alright. Well, we’ve certainly, uh, gone through, uh, a lot of information here today. We didn’t get as many calls. That could be due to, uh, their proximity of school holidays and people returning and then you’ve got the New South Wales people arriving and grandparents.

Everybody’s gone pretty easy on me today. They have, haven’t they? I’ll have to, uh, save up for next week. Alright, Adam, thank you very much for your company again this morning. Thank you. And of course, the old Centrelink and, oh gee, I even, it makes me angry even to say the word insurance.

I’m finding the insurance bug. is creeping into us, you know, into my lifestyle as well at the moment. With everything, the ripple effect of insurance and if you haven’t registered your car for a while, registration is going through the roof because of the Uh, insurance covey, which you automatically have to do.

Compulsory third party, that’s right. It’s a huge shock. And, uh, gee, it’s a big story and I think, uh, we, we better not talk too much about it now. But, uh, uh, it is a problem. And we just alert you to the fact. Get ready for a huge increase in your, uh, registration costs. So, if you’d like to join us this morning, which we hope you will, 5520 888 is the number to do that and talk to the best in the business.

Thank you. Adam Hall. Okay, our favorite run, market update, and my favorite category, Propulsion again. Oh! They’re still doing it? I might go last with Propulsion this time, we didn’t get to get through all the market update by the time we did Propulsion. Okay. So this is a March report, so it’s just come out over the last couple of days.

Yes. It’s an all time record for sales in Australia for March. New cars? New cars, that’s right. 109, 647 for the month. It’s a huge result for, for us. for that time of the year. It’s up 12. 7 percent on last year and 2. 5 percent on the all time record which was set in March 2018. Now, so there’s room to move at all dealerships.

So negotiate your price. That’s right. But the thing is, is that, uh, Oh, here it comes. This has been a, this really has been a big catch up in, in quarters. Uh, and I’ll, I’ll, talk about the areas where that’s really caught up as well. So you’re right. It is now time to, to start asking for a bit of a discount.

Um, you’ll find that there’ll be a lot of cars that are available in dealerships now that you can take delivery of fairly quickly rather than waiting six, 12 or sometimes up to two years for a car. Uh, I’ve noticed that there’s dealerships out there advertising some pretty, what would have been very rare stock, um, that you can take delivery of right now.

So, it’s really starting to, to uh, turn into a buyer’s market. Hey, it’s about time. That’s right. That’s nice. Okay, we’ve got a couple of callers here, Adam, and it’s good morning to Val. Val, what car have you got for evaluation? Good morning, Val. Hi, good morning. Um, look, I want something for, um, Centrelink purposes.

Certainly. How can I help? Um, I, I have a 2012 Hyundai and it’s got 159, 000 on it. Plus, uh, it’s a hatchback. Um, I think that’s about all I need to say. Is it an i20? Um, Yes it is. Alright, so it’s the I 20 now. Is it a four door or the, or the, or the two door with a hatch. Oh. So, yep. It’s two door though. Two door.

And it’s automatic. Yes, please. Yep. All right. Okay. I think, uh, for cent purposes, uh, I think, uh, a fair price would be 3000. Beautiful, well that’s great because that’s far more than they wanted to give it to me for. Yeah, okay. Alright, well Val. Okay, thanks so much. You’re welcome. Have a great day. Same to you.

Thank you. Bye bye. Bye. Alright, we’ve got Janice on the line. Good morning Janice. Good morning. Hang on while I check my name again. Um, hang on. You alright there, Janet? Right, yes, I just want to take off my own speaker, sorry. Ah, that’s okay. How can I help you, Janet? I’ve got a, um, a wagon, seven seats.

Colorado, is it? The last one, yes. Alright. The last one made. I don’t make them anymore. So it’s about They’re a trailblazer now. That’s right. So what, um, what year model is it? About a 2016? 2015. 2015, okay. Yep. Ah, and it’s just the, uh Base model is it? LT LT, alright, and how many kilometres has it travelled?

88, 000, that’s it. 88, alright, the kilometres are pretty good. Um, has it got any extras on it like bull bars or anything like that? Oh, it’s got the bonnet protector and things, um, no it hasn’t got a bull bar on it, just a bonnet protector, seat covers. Alright. Dash Max and things like that ever since it’s been brand new.

Alright, now would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Yes, and it’s got all the log books, the service log books too. Alright, uh, I think if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 23, 000 to 24, 000 for it. Uh, and if you were to trade it in it’s going to be about 3, 000 to 4, 000 less than that, so around the 20 mark.

Oh, that’s a bit disappointing, isn’t it? Yeah, they’ve come back a bit in price, these. A lot of that Holden product has, because they’re no longer in Australia. But, yeah, that’s about what it’s worth. Okay. Alright. Thanks for your help. You’re welcome. Thank you, Janet. Bye. Alright, we’ve got Alan on the line.

Good morning, Alan. Yeah, good morning, Adam. How can I help you, Alan? Okay, look, I’ve got a 2010 KE XLS and it’s gray color with 171,000 kilometers 1 71. Okay. Uh, now is it, so it’s the XLS? Uh, yeah. And is it automatic? Automatic, yes. Automatic. And the color? It’s gray. Gray. Alright. Uh. I haven’t seen a lot of these.

There’s not a lot of them about. Sorry Adam, what is the car again? The Suzuki Kazashi. Ah, Suzuki. So it’s a sedan, like a medium sized sedan in Suzuki. Okay. Somewhere sort of between the Corolla, probably a little bit bigger than the Corolla. Okay, gotcha. It sounds like a motorbike really. It does, yeah. I was getting vroom vroom.

Yeah. Now, would you like a private sale as well as a trade value? Uh, yes please, Ant. Alright. I think, um, it’s a bit of a rough idea because I haven’t seen a lot of them around, but, um, being, so it’s 14 years old, 171, I think as a private sale you’re probably expecting around that five to six mark, uh, and to trade it in it’s going to be about two to two and a half less than that.

Right, I’ll come in. Alright, thank you Alan. I appreciate your call. Bye bye. Alright, we’ve got Glenn on the line. Good morning, Glenn. Morning, Adam. How can I help you, Glenn? Um, I’ve got a Kia Cerato Sport, um, 2017, um, with, um, 25, 000 k’s on the clock, fully serviced. Twenty five, alright. Ah, gee, it’s got low kilometres and it’s a sedan or a hatchback, Glenn?

Mm hmm. It is hatchback. Hatchback. Uh, now is it the, does it have, uh, leather trim? Is it the sport plus or, um, no. No, it’s not leather. No leather. Okay. No, it’s not leather trim. No. All right, and, and what color is it, Clint? It’s, um, like a metallic gun. Metal gun. Metal. All right. Sounds like a nice color. And would you like a, a private sale figure as well as a trade figure on that one?

Yeah, both please. Alright. Um, being a, so 2017, I think is a, a private sale for that one. Uh, you should be expecting around the, the 17,000 mark for it. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’s gonna be about two to 3000 less than that. Okay. All right. Okay. Thanks a lot, Adam. You’re welcome, Glenn. Thank you for your call.

Yes, thank you for your call, Glenn. And all our lines are free, so if you want to get right on to Adam Hall now, you can call and get directly on to Adam by calling 5520 8888, and it’s good morning to Ross. Good morning, Ross. Good morning, Adam. How are you today? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Um, Adam, I’ve got a 2011 Mazda 3.

Um, it’s got Max DL. It’s just a Dand. It’s, um, got 53, 000 kilometers on it. Um, got all its log books. Okay, and it’s automatic? Automatic, yep. Automatic. It’s, um, yep, very, very clean. Clark car, well, very well looked after. Um, and it’s like that metallic, you know, that pearl white colour. Oh, I know the colour.

Yeah, nice colour, that one. Very nice. Alright, and have you had the car from new, have you? No, no. No. I, um, I got it four and a half years ago. I see. Alright. Now, would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Um, yes, that’d be very good. Thanks. Certainly. Alright. Um, the kilometres are, uh, a lot lower than the average, so it would be Yes, they are.

Yes. They had very low kilometres on the first flight. So it has a, um, that has a good impact on, on the value. Uh, I think, uh, as a pilot, It’s a private sale for that one, but it is 13 years old, so you’ve got to take that into account. I think it’s a private sale for that one. You should be expecting around the 10 or 9 mark for it.

Uh, and, and trade value would be about two to two and a half less than that. Okay, there we go. Thank you very, very much for that, Adam. You’re very welcome. I appreciate your call. And you have a lovely day. Same to you. Bye bye. Take care. Bye bye. Thank you. What a nice lady. And when, when, uh, I don’t know whether it was Roz, Roz or Ross or something, yeah, we didn’t get the right name there, but, uh, when she said it’s very clean, she wasn’t talking about the cleanliness of the car.

She was talking that it hasn’t had any damage. Bumps or dents put in it. That’s right. The Aussie terminology with our cars. That’s right. It’s nice and clean. All right, it’s good morning to Brian. Good morning, Brian. Good morning, Adam. Adam, uh, for Centrelink, I’ve got a 2019 Cerato Sport hatchback white Borto, uh, only 18, 000 k’s.

Cerato Sport and a hatch and it’s got 18, 000. Okay, uh, Uh Okay. And what color is it? Brian? White. White. Good color? Yep. Uh, okay. For cent purposes, uh, I think you should be putting, uh, the value at around 19. Oh, okay. Alright. And just one more question, Adam. Uh, depre depreciation of cars on average, would, would it be safe to say they devalue, uh, devalue between one and $2,000 a year, or, I know it varies, but, um, yeah, it’s as a general figure.

It’s, I wouldn’t say that, um, it’s really as a percentage of, of the car. Um, the government allows you to, let’s say you have a business or something like that. Generally around 15 percent is what you can depreciate a car by, um, without, uh, any unwanted attention. Uh, so that’s generally about it, but it’s just been the last few years, it’s really been all over the place.

So it’s a really hard one. So you’ve got to, it’s, it’s a really a case by case sort of basis and depending on supply as well. Uh, but, but generally in the market. You probably lose around 10 percent a year. That’s 10 percent on this case. It’d be close to 2000. How does Centrelink, uh, evaluate or assist the value of the car?

Well, they just, uh, obviously they rely on your, your honesty about value, but they would look, they would look at, um, depreciation as the, as the ATO does as well, um, that by being able to reduce by 15 percent a year is a fair, is a fair number. So all right. That’s good. All right. Bye bye. Goodbye. All right.

We’ve got, uh, Daniel on the line. Good morning, Daniel. Good morning, Adam. How you going? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Adam, I’ve got a, uh, 2013 Lexus CT200H F Sport. Alright, the F Sport, uh And it’s, um, 69, 000 kilometres. Phew, gee, very low kilometres. Yep. Alright. The colour is, the colour is Epsom blue.

The blue, alright. Excellent. And it’s a five door hatch.

These were one of the, uh, one of the earlier hybrids. Very, um, very popular car at the, at the time. That’s for sure. And have you had the car for new? Have you, Daniel? I’ve had it since, I’ve had it since new, yes. All the services. And it looks like it’s just come off the showroom floor. Very nice, very nice.

Now, would you like a private sub value as well as a trade? If you could, please. Alright. Uh, I think, uh, if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 18 mark for it. Uh, uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be about 2, 000 to 2, 500 less than that. Adam, can you tell me why, why is that when you trade it in?

Is that because of their markup? Correct. Yeah, they need a margin to be able to resell the car. Um, the other thing about dealerships is that, that they have to provide a warranty as well. So if you, if they resell the car, if something goes wrong with it in a reasonable period, well, they have to, they have to repair it for, but when you sell a car privately, you don’t have to do that.

Right, okay then, no, no problem. Alright. That’s good, yeah. I was looking, I was probably looking a little bit more, you know, because of the low kilometres and excellent condition, you know, full service, you know. I understand, I do understand where you’re coming from, the kilometres are very low, it’s just once they get to that sort of 10 to 11 year age bracket, it’s, it’s hard to convince people to spend much more money than that.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright. Alright then. Okay. Thanks very much. Thank you, Daniel. Bye bye. Okay, cheers. Yeah, thank you for your call, Daniel. And, uh, we’re getting, uh, yep, we’ve got lots of lines free. You can get on to Adam straight away by calling 5520 8888. We might take Kevin’s call now, and, uh, Adam? Good morning, Kevin.

Hey, how you going? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Awesome. Um, I have a 2007 Holden SVZ. SVZ, uh, Commodore. Alright. And it’s a sedan or a wagon? Uh, it’s just a ute. Oh, it’s a ute, okay. SVZ Ute. Uh, and how many kilometres has it travelled? Uh, it’s got about 263, 000 on it. 263, all right. Um, and what colour is it, Kevin?

That’s blue. Blue, okay. I think it was called, from memory it was called Impulse Blue or something back then. It was a pretty popular color. Are you sure? That’s a guess. I’m pretty sure it’s right. It’s a nice deep blue. Pardon me? It’s not a deep blue. Oh, it’s a nice deep blue. It’s a nice deep blue. Yeah, that’s, that’s the color.

That’s the color. He’s right. He’s always right. Now, uh, how’s the condition, Kevin? Is it reasonably Um, it’s pretty well maintained. Okay. Hmm. All right. Uh. I’ve had a dash mat, I’ve had steering wheel covers, seat covers. There’s a slight tear in the bottom driver’s side seat. Okay. With the lead off. Yeah. But it’s, it’s very small.

Probably that’s why you come. Okay. Alright. Uh, for a private sale, I think, uh, the, the 265, 000 has an impact, but I think somewhere between that 5, 000 to 6, 000 range, if it’s in reasonable condition, is, is what you should be asking. Okay. Nice. Alright. Thank you, Kevin. I appreciate your call. Bye bye. Alright.

We’ve got, uh, Bruce on the line. Good morning, Bruce. Morning, Adam. How are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? I’ve got a BMW X3. September 2019. With 29, 500 clicks. Uh, it’s the petrol two liter with the M Sport enhancement pack. I think at the time new was about two and a half gram. Would that makes a difference?

Not sure. Yeah. Okay. Alright. So, and it white, white and white in color? Absolutely. Still light new. The backseat never been set in apart from the puppy dog on the backseat. , uh, has it got the, uh, the panoramic sunroof. No. No sunroof? Okay. Um, sounds like a, sounds like a very nice car. And it, and it’s just the, it’s just the petrol isn’t it?

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Alright. Uh, now would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Yes, please. All right. Uh, I think if you were to sell privately, uh, you should be asking, uh, in the late 40s for it. Uh, so around that sort of 49 sort of mark, uh, and, and as a trade value, it’s going to be about 5, 000 less than that.

Okay. Okay. No worries. Okay. Alright. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you for your call, Bruce. Bye bye. Yes, thank you for your call, Bruce. You can get a valuation on your motor car, you can get it revalued for Centrelink or insurance purposes, or if you’re going to an auction, watch out, but you need to get a value, an idea of the value of the car you’re thinking of bidding on.

Adam can cover it all for you, so any questions, why don’t you call us right now on 5520 8888. Okay, Adam, let’s get back to, uh, I’ve got to wait for my propulsion. So we’ll go through the, uh, the brands on that record month. Yeah, big month, big month. Uh, Toyota, uh, obviously they finished number one again, but the, the big story for them was they were up 43.

4%. So they’ve, they’re really playing catch up on those outstanding orders that they’ve had. Uh, Ford, for the second month in a row, has come in at, um, second, second place. So they’re going very well. Uh, Mazda is normally in second, is now in third. They seem to be falling away a little. Uh, Mitsubishi was fourth.

Uh, Kia in fifth, uh, Tesla finished, uh, in sixth spot, so that’s a very big result for them. Uh, they were up 68 percent for the month, the corresponding month last year. In terms of, in terms of numbers, have you got the number there, the actual number? Uh, so 6, 017 of those were sold. 6, 000. Okay. So no wonder we see a lot of those on the road now.

Yes, that’s true. And compared to the number one position, selling what? Uh, 18, 000. 18, 000. So it’s still a long way to go. Yes. Uh, Hyundai was 7th. Uh, Nissan were in the top 10 again. Uh, they’re going quite well. Uh, the Isuzu, uh, Ute in 9th and then MG rounded out the top 10. They’ve, uh, they’ve fallen away a little bit.

They’ve dropped 1. 4 percent for the month. So, um, it seems a lot of other brands are having impact on them. Now let’s go to, um, let’s go to propulsion. Your favorite, favorite segment. The, uh, petrol, uh, there was 47, 761, uh, petrol sold. Good. That was a drop of, drop of 4. 9%. Right. So it’s a, it’s a. A modest, um, a modest yes.

Uh, diesel, uh, was 31 7 3 1. Uh, that was up 5.5%. Mm-Hmm. Uh, hybrid. This is the, this is the big story. Uh, 13,935 hybrids. Uh, they were up 165.9%. Gee, that’s a big thing. And that is, and this, this tells the story of what’s been going on with Toyota there. Yes. They’ve really, um, caught up with their RAV4 orders and that’s had a big impact on hybrid sales.

Big impact on hybrid sales, yes. And then electric was up 38%, but nowhere near what hybrid is. Yes. And plug in hybrids also had a pretty good month as well. Well, it’s telling a story of what the future could be like. Certainly is. And hybrids are well and truly up there. Absolutely. Okay, well it’s good morning to Peter.

Peter, what’s your vehicle for evaluation? Good morning, Peter. Uh, good morning guys. How are you going? Well, thank you. I have a, um, 2005 silver Toyota Kluge Grande. A Kluge Grande. With the, uh, The powered, uh, sunroof. I see. All right. Wood trim and everything. Okay. Uh, has it got a lot of kilometers on it, Peter?

Uh, yes. 250. Two 50. All right. 250. Uh, and how’s the condition? Is it reasonably well looked after? Oh yeah, it’s been looked after. It’s got a couple of little things. Um. Nothing, nothing major. It couldn’t be popped out, so to speak. That’s to be expected with something that’s nearly 20 years old and done a quarter of a million kilometres.

All right. Yeah. Um, and would you like a private tail value? Is that what you’re looking to do? Yeah, yeah, I would please. Uh, I think, uh, to sell privately, uh, somewhere around that 5 to maybe 6, 000 if it’s in really good condition. Yeah. Oh, it goes well. It doesn’t blow any smoke, but. Yeah. Yeah. It’s great.

Yeah. All right. Yeah. All right. I hope that information’s helped you. Thank you, Peter. It does. Enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you. Bye for now. Bye bye. Okay. Thank you, Peter. And it is the new ye easy way to sell your car, but for now, this is What’s Your Car Worth, our very popular program here at 89.

3. And the man that makes it popular is with me in the studio at the present time. Good morning, Adam Moore. Good morning, Wayne. Thanks for having me back. Terrific to have you back again, Adam. If you’re just joining us for the first time, Adam has many years in the motor car industry and his claim to fame is that, uh, he’s got a photographic memory.

He doesn’t have a computer and he doesn’t have a red, blue, or green book in front of him. He’s just got his moldy old diary. You don’t like this notebook, do you? Oh, it’s a magnificent notebook. It’s got a lot in it. And he records every car that he, uh, does evaluation on. And he’s got a very, very high success rate, and he can help you right now, because trying to sell a car these days in an industry which is continuing to go up and down and all over the place, it can be a high risk, simply from the fact that if you put the wrong price on, you could sit there for months.

And I’ve been talking to a lot of people. It’s probably one of the Most common calls that I’m receiving, people asking me, why hasn’t my car sold? I, the last one I sold two or three years ago was really easy, but this one was, this one’s, um, really sticking and, uh, and that’s, uh, it’s, it’s a very tricky market out there now and you really need to cross things.

A good prescription, tricky market. And I know we seem to have, over the last three or four weeks, we seem to start our program talking about fluctuations in the market and the importance, but it’s a, it’s a factor that we need to get out there because, um, you know, People are just, uh, you’re on your own when you’re selling your car and you may, uh, for lots of reasons, because we are emotionally attached to our motor cars and you try and factor that emotion into the selling price, doesn’t work.

You’ve got to come right back to square one. That’s right. Yes. Okay. So if you’re looking for, uh, a, a valuation on your motor car, Adam Hall is the man to call on 55208888. And if you’re looking for, you know, valuation or trade in, or you’re going to sell it privately, he’ll give you the right price for you.

And then you can go away and consider that. And if you want a revaluation for insurance purposes or Centrelink, we can do that, or Adam can do that for you. And gee, if you’re brave enough to go to an auction, you. And you’ve got an idea of the car, you better get the price, the starting price from Adam as well this morning.

And, the third one is, you’ve got a big beast in the garage, and it’s been sitting there for some time, time to downgrade. Just um, what you were talking about with auctions there, I just thought of a subject that was probably pretty important, and I don’t want to mention the name of the auction house that was fined recently, but, and this is why it’s important to be very careful.

Buying a car from an auction. Uh, there was a, a fairly big, uh, auction company that was recently fined heavily. I think about, I think it’s about $10 million that have been fined. Wow. Uh, for mis describing, uh, their auction lots. And this, this is all down to cars. So, um, mis describing the, even the. the finer details of what year it was, and what, when it was built or when the compliance plate was and then down to the, uh, the description of the condition of the car.

There were so many that people purchased and then ended up with these cars that um, Virtually couldn’t be put on the road. Jeremy, I guess it’s like anything too, uh, in a market where it is fluctuating to the extremes that we’re seeing. You can see, uh, the, um, the scammer trying to get in and make a quick dollar.

That’s right. We’ve got our first caller. Good morning, Margaret. Margaret, go ahead. Good morning, Margaret. Good morning. Um, I have a 2016 Hyundai i30 Active, five door hatchback. Okay, automatic Silver And it’s done 41, 000 kilometres. 41, alright. So 2016, uh, in silver and colour and it’s automatic. Uh, and how’s the condition Margaret?

Is it pretty well looked after? Excellent, yes. Excellent condition. Very good condition. Alright. Now would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure? Yes, please. All right. Uh, I think if you were to sell, um, privately for that one now, you should be expecting around the, uh, 13 mark for it, uh, maybe 13 and a half.

Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be about two to two and a half thousand less than that. Okay. Thank you very much for your help. You’re very welcome. Thank you for your call. Bye bye. All right. We’ve got John on the line. Good morning, John. Morning. How can I help you, John? Um, I’ve got a Hyundai i30 2014, uh, 87, 000 kilometers on the clock.

It’s been serviced regularly, it’s in good condition, apart from It’s got four dents, not major dents, through shopping trolleys. Oh, gee. We’ve got to get that petition going about these shopping trolleys. Oh, it’s such a common place where cars get damaged, that’s for sure. And what colour is your car, John?

It’s like a, a silver grey. Silver grey. Gee, the last one was silver as well. Uh. Yeah. Alright. So 87, 000. Uh. Alright. And would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade? Yes please. Alright. I think as a private sale you should be expecting around the 11, 000 mark for it. Uh. Okay. And if you were to trade it in it’ll be about 2 to 2.

5 less than that. Right. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome. Thank you for your call John. Thank you. Cheers have a good day. Same to you. All right we’ve got Marilyn on the line. Good morning Marilyn. Good morning Marilyn. Hello. Hello, how can I help you? Um, we’re looking to trade in our MGSF.

It’s a electric vehicle. Oh, it’s a S suv. So it’s the, it’s the Zs, uh, Zs, uh, electric Z. Is it? Okay? Yes. All right. Uh, and has it traveled many kilometers. 17,017. All right. And, uh, what year model is it? Um, we bought it 19, 5, 23, last year. Oh. 19th of May, last year. 23, alright. And you’re looking at trading on a new one, or you’re buying something different?

Yeah, um, no, I love this car, it’s a great little car. Hmm, alright. But, I just, we were just wanting a bigger one, because it’s only got, uh, I think 330, 000. Okay, yeah I understand, yeah. Alright, so when you bought that one new, was that around, around 42, 000? Um, I think we paid, 44. Yeah. Okay. Alright. So the, uh, they have come back a little bit in price because, um, MG have had a fair amount of, no, we paid 48.

48. Okay. So that would’ve been at the top end. So they have, they have put big bonuses on these now. Um, so they’re selling in the. the low 40s for a brand new one, uh, so I think as a, a, a trading figure, uh, you’re going to be looking at, uh, probably in the early to mid 30s, so around that 30 to 32 to 34. All right.

Okay. All right. I’m sorry. I haven’t got that. If I wanted to. If you wanted to sell it properly. If I wanted to sell it properly. Yeah, probably about two to three thousand more than that. That’s um, because you want to be a fair discount off what a new one is. Yeah. Alright. Okay. Thank you Marilyn. Thank you.

Appreciate your call. Alright. Bye. for your call Marilyn. And, uh, that’s the first one we’ve had, um, since EVs entered the, uh, the marketplace. It has. But that’s a, that’s a good example of, because it’s, it’s such a, particularly with electric cars, it’s a very volatile market because if the manufacturers can’t clear these cars, they are putting, you Bonus is on and that impacts the resale.

That impacts the resale. We might come back to that discussion after we talk to Peter. Peter, good morning. Go ahead. Good morning, Peter. Oh, I’m on the line, eh? Yes, you are. How can I help you? No pressure on you at all. I’ve got a, uh, when I’ll catch your intent. It’s a 22 model. But I bought it last week and it’s only got 300km on the clock.

Oh really? Alright. And you don’t like the car, Peter? No, that’s not the problem. I’ve got a problem with my partner. Hard to get into this car. It’s got no grab handles. It’s got everything else you can think of Except for grab handles and she needs that because she’s got a bad back. I understand. All right So I just wonder what what would it be worth if I sold it privately or as I tried it as well I suppose.

Can I ask you how much did you pay for it new? I paid 37. 6. 37. 6. Okay. It was a it’s a demo board as a demo have 60 k’s on the clock Hmm And, uh, I know they were selling them for about 43, 000. Yeah. Brand new. Yeah. They’re actually It was registered. They’re actually a very nice car. They’re very nice to drive.

It’s a beautiful, it’s a beautiful car. Yeah. Mmm. Mmm. Absolutely. But, she just Yeah, she’s got so much hassle getting into and out of it. We should have looked at it a bit closely at that problem, but unfortunately we didn’t. Oh, sorry to hear that. The first thing you need to consider is that, um, so when you drive, uh, car or demonstrator out, the first thing that’s paid is your GST and government stamp duty and those things aren’t recoverable.

Uh, so you’re probably looking at about a 5, 000 um, hit just right there. Um, and then you’ve got to try and offer a bit of a concession to the, So, I would suggest probably asking in the early 30’s for it, so around that 32 to 33, as a private. But I think, if you say took it back to the Renault dealership, they’re probably going to be around 30.

Yeah. Because there’s so much money’s been paid to the government already. Yeah, I will, I’ll lose some money on it. Yeah. Would you be interested in buying it? I’m happy to talk to you, so, uh, With you? Okay. Yeah, I’m happy to talk to you, I’ll see what I can do to help. Um, do you have my number? I’ve got your, uh, Alright.

Hang on, I’ve got it to you somewhere, I think. Is it, uh, 0404290617? That’s correct, yeah. Okay. Okay. Alright, I’ll give you a call later on. Alright, thank you Peter. Okay, thanks Adam. Bye bye. Bye. Alright, we’ve got Warwick on the line. Good morning Warwick. You there Warwick? Yes, yeah. How can I help you Warwick?

I’m just looking at a Holden Commodore sports wagon, a 2009 international edition with a leather trim. 93, 000 kilometres, a very clean, nice car to look at. That’s good. And a good service history, it’s just had the timing chain repair done to it. That’s a pretty common problem with us. Yeah, yeah, I’m aware of that.

I drive, I’ve got to drive a Commodore myself at the moment. Yeah. And they want 12, 000 prepared to discount the government standard for duty, that’s all. And he said, or you sell the car if he hangs on to it. Is that a fair price or is it a little bit, a little bit too over the market? In my opinion, it’s a little bit high.

I think, um, the fact that it’s 50, it’s got very low kilometers for the age, so that certainly helps it, but I think you should be trying to push at least another thousand dollars off. Yeah, I, yeah, I thought a realistic price would be 9, 500 but people aren’t going to drop that in the market because they can sell these cars, that would be true, wouldn’t it?

Well, it’s, it’s getting a lot tougher to sell used cars now, so don’t be, um, too concerned about that. See, in my opinion, it’s probably because the kilometres are so low, maybe about a 10, 000, maybe 500, um, but then you’ve got to, um, obviously the stamp duty is something that has to be paid anyway. Yeah, but I wouldn’t be going too much higher than that.

Yeah, no, I’m just, I’m just worried because I’ve already got a Commodore and it’s, it was a newer car, so it’d be fair enough, but it’s, and uh, I thought, I thought myself, I said to him, what would happen if I walk in with a bank check for ten and a half thousand and he said he’d wait a while, he reckons he’ll sell it.

That was his answer. Yeah, okay. Yeah. I think, and the market’s coming down as you said, I listen to you regularly. Thank you very much for your time. You’re welcome, Mark. Okay. Thank you. Thanks, bye. Yes, thank you for that call Warwick. Okay, it’s coming up to 20 minutes past 10 here at your station 89. 3 You’re listening to What’s Your Car Worth?

We’re going to go for a short break and all our lines are now free so you can get directly on to Adam Hall by calling 5520 8888. Cost of living continues to impact our home budget. There is no call out fee. There is no roadworthy fee. There are no mechanical costs. And, after a friendly chat, there’s instant cash for your car. And No fee for taking your car away. Yes, it’s now easier and friendlier to sell your car to Adam Hall. Check out the real Adam Hall. Log on to adamhallbymycar.

com. au or call 0404 290 617. And right now you’re listening to What’s Your Car Worth and our number is 5520. Double eight, double eight. Nice easy number for you to get an on the money valuation on your motor car. And you can call right now with all our lines being free. Okay, Adam, um. We better get into this market update.

We better get into, and we’ve already, we did propulsion last week. We did. We started with the last one we normally, uh, start with. Uh, so I wanted to go through, um, February sales. pretty incredible result. And this is still a catch up of all these cars that couldn’t be delivered, couldn’t be delivered. Uh, so 105, 000, um, and 23 new car sales for February.

It was up 20. 9 percent on the same time, uh, last year. And it’s an all time record by eight and a half thousand cars. So it’s a very strong result, but inflated. Inflated, yes, but this is something else that’s having an impact on used car values because so many people are now collecting their new car, so there’s, the tradings are coming through and there’s so many more cars out there for sale.

Yes. Hence the need to, hence the need for someone selling their car to be right on the money. That’s right. Okay. Good morning to Bob. Bob, go ahead. Good morning, Bob. Morning, Adam. How are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Mate, I’m looking at buying a, uh, a Mazda CX nine as mirror, I think it is. Um, beautiful condition.

It was a year of manufacture was 2017, uh, and the compliance plate is, uh, 2018. Okay. Oh one. All right. Uh, was bought in April. Um, alright. How many kilometers does it travel? It’s got 97,000 on the clock, 97. All. Uh, and what color? Uh, white and color, good color, alright. And are you looking at a, is it a private sale or at a dealership?

It is. Okay, and how much are they asking for it? They’re asking 29. 29, that’s pretty close to what I was thinking. Um, again, I think that’s, that’s a fair asking price, but I think with the amount of cars that are available on the market at the moment, you just, uh, offering a lower figure is pretty important.

Because you can negotiate now, so I would suggest, uh, somewhere around 27 would probably be a fair, um, yeah, fair price to, to offer. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Yeah, I don’t think it would go that, that low. It’s worth a try. It’s worth a try. It’s worth a try. Um, I just think that, uh, everybody is getting offered, uh, less than, than what they were 12 months ago.

And I don’t think it’s cheeky to, to be offering a couple of thousand less, even if you end up meeting in the middle, it’s still, it’s still a pretty good outcome for both of you. Yeah. All right. Okay, well. Okay. Thank you, Bob. Appreciate it. Great work. All right, we’ve got Peter on the line. Good morning, Peter.

Good morning. How can I help you? Uh, I’ve got a, uh, 2010 BMW 245, um, 6 cylinder, black. I’ve done 153, 000 K’s. And, uh, I’d just like to find out the ballpark for, uh, what it might be worth today. Did you say a 2 4 5? Yes. Hmm. That’s a six cylinder model. Yeah, I know, I’m, it’s just, uh, not a car that I’ve seen for a very long time.

So, probably something that I’ll do a bit of homework for you, um, Peter. Um, do you listen to the program every week, or just when you can, or? No. Most of the time, but, uh Well, what I can do, I’ll do a bit of homework for you and I’ll let you know on next week’s program what I think it’s worth. Not next week.

Oh, sorry, I’m off next week. So, did you leave your details at reception? No. Okay. Can get your phone number and maybe I’ll give you a call? Of course, yeah, that’s fine. My number’s 0404 0404 290 290 617 617 Thank you Adam Thank you Peter, I’ll talk to you soon I can give you a call one day, uh, later in the piece Nah, no problem at all Alright, I’ll talk to you soon OK Bye bye.

Thank you. Okay, bye bye. Okay, um, thank you Peter for your call. Okay, it’s 25 minutes past 10. That’s the official mark now. We’ve only got five minutes for the run home. So if you would like to talk to Adam, why don’t you do it right now? The earlier you get in, the sooner you can get money in your pocket, uh, and getting a new car or something like that.

All right? Double five, two, zero, double eight, double eight is the number and you’ll get directly on to Adam Hall. Okay, Adam, you want to go back to, uh, keep going with that market update, keep going with the market. We’ll finally get through it. So yes, record result for February. Uh, Toyota had an incredible month.

They sold 19, 374 of those, uh, which was up 35. 2%. Uh, and that’s really just a catch up. They’ve, they’ve really started to increase, uh, manufacturing and starting to deliver a lot of those outstanding orders. Uh, Then in second spot was Mazda, uh, they were down 4. 1%, so that’s a struggling result for them. Uh, 7, 350.

Uh, Ford, uh, they did quite well in third spot, they were 7, 275, they were up 20%. Uh, Nissan, uh, for the first time in a very long time was in the top five, uh, they got some very good product at the moment, uh, 6, 617. Uh, Mitsubishi in fifth, uh, Kia in fourth. In 6th, uh, Hyundai in 7th, uh, Tesla, uh, they had a, uh, very big month so they’re in 8th but, uh, if you remember in January they didn’t get to deliver a lot of cars, uh, they had an issue with a ship, um, quarantine or something like that, uh, they’re up 61.

1%, uh, Isuzu Ute, uh, in 9th and then MG Yes, that’s a lot. That’s a lot. We’re gonna take, we’re gonna take Jenny’s call. Let’s do that. Good morning, Jenny. Go ahead, Jenny. Hi, I have a Santa Fe. It’s, I bought it in 2018. I think it’s got a 17 badge. It’s a Highlander. A Highlander, alright. And I just like him. It’s white.

It’s white in colour, alright. Yep. Uh, and it’s the diesel, the 2. 2 litre diesel? Yeah, it’s a diesel, yep. Alright, 2. 2 litre. And how many kilometres has it travelled, Jenny? It’s done 103, 000. 103, alright. Alright. 17, 18, uh, and condition, Jenny, is it pretty well looked after, is it? It’s perfect. Alright. It’s a seven seater.

Seven seater, of course. Alright, uh, I think there’s a, a private sale for that one, uh, uh, being a, so it’s a, so it was picked up in 2018 and, but built in 2017, is that right? Yes, built in 17. Alright. Sorry. Yeah. Alright. I think as a private sale for that one, uh, you should be expecting around the 23 to 24. Uh, and as a trade in, it’ll be about 3000 less than that.

Okay. Thank you very much. You’re welcome, Jenny. Thank you for your call. Bye bye. Yes, thank you for your call, Jenny. That’s, uh, another successful call there. We’ve got, uh, three minutes to go in our program. Why don’t you get on the phone right now, and we’ll put you straight on to Adam Hall and get you a valuation on your motor car.

Okay, Adam. Um, I think we wrapped up on the market update. Do you want to flick now to the comment that’s been announced this week on EV cars? Yeah, I read this story that there’s a report that’s suggesting that the cost to build electric cars could match Um, the cost to build internal combustion engines by 2027.

Now that’d be a fantastic outcome for, for everybody. Um, but I think the one thing that I question with that is there’s so many manufacturers that have pulled back on their electric car Um, sales targets and, and manufacturing targets because they can’t get the cost to where they need it to be to be a profitable company and to be able to offer products that people will buy.

Um, the reality is, is most, uh, mainstream, uh, manufacturers, They’re losing money on every single electric car that they sell right now. Because the cost to build is so high, uh, and that’s why they’ve pulled back on those targets. On those targets, of course. But, um, it’ll be a very big turnaround to be able to equal, uh, and, and that’s, that’s not saying that the cost to replace a battery is, is not going to go up.

It’s still going to be at that really high level. Yeah, that’s still going to be there. Because that’s um, that’s one of the things that’s really impacting resale value on second hand electric cars. People, including myself, have a big concern that if the battery goes, the car’s probably worth not much at all.

Yes, look, there’s some market dynamics playing out now, and some of the, uh, the, um, Issues that have been hanging around behind the scenes concerning the resale value for an EV car. Mm. The increasing costs, the bonuses and the, the, the freebies that they get on the purchase. Yeah. Um, uh, uh, are still in, still there.

That’s right. But it’s impacting the resale value. It is. And it’s a, it’s, you know, it’s a, an evil that’s gonna carry on with the car that people have gotta, uh, cop. Yeah. And unfortunately copying it in the pocket. That’s right. Yes, it’s a, uh, uh, an industry which is certainly fluctuating. Gives me a headache, that’s for sure.

Oh, I’ve got indigestion just thinking about it. Alright then, look, we’re up on news time, Adam. Um, next week, um, we, there won’t be any What’s Your Car Worth. Adam’s got some business he has to attend to. So, uh, we’ll be back in two weeks time. Yes, it is the new, easy way to sell your car, and a very good morning to you. Welcome to our Tuesday Talkback. Ten o’clock time is What’s Your Car Worth time, and sitting with me in Studio One is the man who has all the numbers, and that’s Adam Hall.

Good morning, Adam. Good morning, Wayne. Great to be back. Good to have you back again. Oh, I forgot, you weren’t with us last week. Had a break last week. Had a break. A little holiday there. Terrific. Alright, if you’re looking for a valuation on your motor car, for those regular listeners, you know what it’s all about.

If you’re joining us for the first time, you can get a valuation on your car with Adam. Adam has, uh, many, many years in the car industry, and as a result of that, he has his own consultancy business still in the car business, and he has, uh, got it from, uh, the man on the street as to what the value of these cars are at the present time, because it’s a market that continues, and I know we say it every week, but it’s a fact, decisions are coming every day that are changing the dynamics in the car industry.

That’s right, we were having a bit of a chat before the program, there’s a lot of different manufacturer decisions that are happening now and even even government, um, changes to, um, what they’re expecting in the near future in relation to changing to electric vehicles and so forth. That’s having a big impact on, on expected values of cars as well.

Of course it is. And you, when you’ve got a government saying on one. that sometime on electric vehicles that they’ll represent uh, fifty percent of the number of cars on the road and then just recently a revision of that figure came down to twenty seven percent. That’s right. So look, the figures are all over the place and it really comes down to, I don’t think anyone knows um, what they’re doing and what the forecast should be.

No, well it’s, it’s, I think I’ve said this before, it’s probably been the toughest two to three year period of valuing cars because it used to be fairly steady and, but now it’s, it is extremely volatile. And the beauty of this program is, you know, you’re going to get the right figure as best we can. And we always put this caveat in, Adam will give you a figure for, for your vehicle, but there’s nothing, um, better than looking at the vehicle in the, in the flesh, so to speak.

So we just, we just put that caveat over there, but But, uh, have confidence what he tells you, it is what it is, and, uh, the, uh, way to get a valuation on your motor car if you want to do a trade in or sell it, uh, privately is to call Adam right now on 5520 8888. If you’ve got a good idea of what car you want to buy in going to an auction, that would be very wise to get a figure on that vehicle.

for you at the auction. Be prepared for that. And if you want to get a revaluation for Centrelink and um, insurance purposes, Adam is also the man to give you that. It’s a slightly different formula. And if you just want to sit back and listen to us and have a cup of coffee, you can do that as well. But the number to call right now is 5520 733 7000.

double eight, double eight. Okay, Adam. Oh, look, I love these market sales, market reviews that you do. And can you start with propulsion? Oh, you love that one, don’t you? The propulsion covers what? Uh, how, what sort of engine pushes the vehicle forward? And even that’s a minefield. And in reverse as well. So, so, uh, Yeah, we can do that.

I know you love this one. So sales by, so this is a market update for, uh, February, uh, so sales by propulsion. So it’s still the top, uh, engine, uh, is petrol. So there was 46, 000. Uh, 533, uh, petrol engine sold in vehicles last month. In last month, and it was actually up 4.5%. Wow. Where, uh, now diesel, uh, came in second at 30 2022.

Uh, that was up 21.1%. Fed diesel, fed diesel. So it just goes to show that the demand is absolutely still there for both those engines. We might take Del’s call and I’ll keep going. I think that’s a, I think that’s a very good idea. Here we go. Hello Del. Good morning Del. Good morning, good morning Adam. How can I help you?

A Toyota RAV4 hybrid cruiser, a 2019 model, um, September 19 it was bought, it’s pearl white in colour, good colour, alright, it’s got 26, 000km on the speedy, um, and it’s pearl white in colour. Dark grey interior. It’s got a bonnet protector, headlight protectors, mats, mud flaps, and tinted windows. It’s a very good order.

Alright. Don’t, don’t sell it. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Now, one last question. Is it all wheel drive or the two wheel drive? All wheel drive, no, two wheel drive. Ah, it’s a two wheel drive, alright. Alright, so it’s, uh, five years old. This car would probably have one of the best resale values, uh, on, on the market.

Because, uh, this one, uh, brand new, was probably about, uh, around that 46 mark in a two wheel drive. That’s right. Correct, yeah. That’s right, uh, and that car would probably still sell, uh, around the 40 mark, and that’s five years later. Wow, that’s a good reputation, isn’t it? Yeah. Okay, and for a trade in, Adam, would it be?

Trade in’s going to be a few thousand less than that, so it’s probably going to be around the, sort of, thirty six, six, six mark as a, as a trade. But bear in mind as well that when that car gets resold again, stamp duty has to be paid again as well. So it’s a pretty, it’s a pretty incredible resale value.

It is indeed. Mm. Okay, well that’s great. That’s 40, 000. That’s right. Thank you, Del. Thank you so much. Appreciate that. Appreciate your call. Bye bye. Yeah, thank you. Thank you, Del, for that call. And uh, all our lines are now free. You can get on the phone right now and get directly on to Adam Hall for a valuation on your motorcar by calling 5520 8888.

That, what, what do you see, the rare, that, uh, particular model for Toyota, the Rev. What are the, uh, the, the, the um, reasons for holding their good resale. Uh, increase in new car price, that’s the first thing, and supply. They’ve really, the supply has always been good. pretty much from a couple of years in, uh, at least 12 months to get one.

Okay. So that’s why that, that, uh, it’s really held steady. Steady price wise. Yeah. And have steadily been rising, raising the price of it as well. So, uh, that one now would be about 55, 000 for a brand new Brand new one. Yes. Uh, but it’s still, it still defies, uh, any expectation in terms of, um, resale value.

There’s no doubt about Toyota. They, they build themselves, uh, little niches in the, in the market. You know, you’ve the Corolla, the Yaris, and now the Edge. And, and of course the Hilux story is an interesting one. But the Hilux story, I think. Uh, is, is, uh, a little different. They didn’t lose number one. Really?

Yeah. It was set up by the, uh, the, the, the good marketing from Ford Granger, wasn’t it? Yeah, they did, they did a great job. Yeah. The full site. That’s right. And getting the, getting all their extra vehicles from around the world into the Australian market. Yeah. When, when the Hilux wasn’t available for supply.

That’s right. A very smart move. Mm-Hmm, . Okay. All right. We’ve got, uh, Jim on the line. Uh, good morning, Jim. Yes. Good morning, Adam. Uh, enjoy your show. Thank you. Uh, I’ve got, I’ve got an old car. I’ve got an old Falcon. It’s a 2007 station wagon auto, and it’s got, I’m only after, uh, just a, a figure for, uh, insurance and, uh, so I’m not selling it.

It’s got 300, 302,000 on it. It’s been a great car. 3 0 2, the old, so it’s a, so it’s a bf, uh, Falcon wagon? Yes. I was actually talking to someone a few weeks ago that said the same thing, he said I’ve been running around in this car for many years and he said I’ll never sell it, he said it’s just so practical.

Yep, well I had a taxi in Sydney years ago and we used to get 700, 000 out of a taxi at Falcom. Oh, it’s only just running now. I have it serviced every 5, 000. I’ve had that for years. Oh, that’s great. To keep on top of it. Fair enough. It just keeps going and going. It’s a great car. Good to hear. Look, Ferran, it doesn’t have a lot of value, um, in the market.

Um, more value to you than, than, uh, than for insurance or anything like that. But I think for insurance purposes, probably around that 3, 000 mark, I think, would be the right price. Right. Just so if something was to go wrong, then you can go and get another one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Actually I bought a, uh, another Falcon here about 18 months ago.

It was the last series, the 2010 G6. Oh, that’s a nice car. Yeah. Lovely car. It had 38, 000 k’s on it. Oh, gee. Very nice. Yeah. Very nice. It’s still only got 44 on it. Oh, what a great car. Well, I appreciate, I appreciate your call Jim. Thank you. And Jim, Jim, are you a Bathurst enthusiast? I bet I know where you sit.

With the Ford, with the Ford crew up on the hill. Yeah, I’ve always been. I used to have a, that’s a Fairlane, the old Fairlane. Ah, great car. Yes. Okay. Good on you, good on you. Thank you Jim. Okay, cheers mate. All the best. Bye. Bye bye. Ah, we’ve got Parika on the line I believe. Hello, are you there? Yes. How’s it going?

Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Um, just have a, I’ve actually got two vehicles. First one, uh, is a 2010, uh, uh, Series 1 BMW convertible. Uh, 1 2 3 diesel. 1 2 3 diesel, uh, in a convertible. Uh, does it have any kilometres on it? Yeah, we’re looking at 203, 000. 203, 000, alright. Okay. I haven’t seen a lot of these around, so it will be a rough idea.

Um, and what colour is it, Perica? Uh, silver. Silver? Black leather interior. Black leather, alright. Uh, I think, uh, private sale for that one, uh, would probably be in that 8, 000 to 10, 000 range. Uh, and what’s the second car that you have? It’s actually a motorcycle. Would you be able to value the motorcycle? I can’t, unfortunately, because I would know as much as you do on what they’re worth.

I don’t, um, I’ve never had any, uh, interest in motorbikes. So, sorry, I can’t help with that one. Alright. No, that’s great. Well, thank you very much for your help this morning. You’re welcome. Thank you for your call. Bye bye. Thanks, mate. Bye. Alright, we’ve got Colin on the line. Good morning, Colin. Yes, hello. How can I help you?

Mate, I’ve got an old beast for sale. I bought it for my son while he was over here and I just want to sell it off now. I’ve done a bit of work on it. It’s an old 2002 Pathfinder. It’s the ST. It’s the V6 3 litre. Oh, the 3 litre. Automatic. Yeah, uh, it’s got a lift kit on it, it’s got a new muffler system and new CVs and new front brakes and, uh, I put some diff struts on it, you know, they were, the bushings were gone on the drifts, so, I had those put on anyway, so.

But it’s got a lot of K’s on it. 320, 000 on it, you know, so. I just want to sell it now because he’s gone back to America and, and, uh, yeah, he used it for a few months. It didn’t miss a beat. I just did a service on it too and it’s got a six month red dress, so. Okay, yeah. It’d be a good island car for somebody, but I know that with the high K’s, the value there is not a whole lot of value.

No, there’s not a lot of value there, but it sounds like you’ve spent a bit of money, so that, um, Yeah. Yeah. You probably just want to describe that when you’re selling it, um, that, uh, cause hopefully people will take that into account a little bit. Uh, I, I think, uh, probably somewhere around that three to three and a half thousand if it’s in roadworthy condition.

Well, the news is I got a roadworthy certificate for it, I just put 6 months reg over my back on it, so. Yeah, so I think, I think somewhere around there. Yeah, that’s like 500 worth there, yeah, about three and a half if I’m lucky, you reckon? Yeah, I think so, yeah. Alright. Okay. Thanks Colin. They’re not worth much, are they, those old bees?

No, unfortunately, no, no. Sorry, can’t give you better news. Yeah, go for it. Yeah, it goes like last week’s pay too, you know. I like that one.

Alright mate, okay Adam, that’s about what I thought. I thought I was hoping to get around four for it, but, uh, No, we’re not too far off. It’s probably wishful thinking. Alright mate. Colin. That’s the comment of the morning. It goes like last week’s pay. Very timely. Alright, we’ve got Dennis on the line. Good morning Dennis.

Yeah, good morning sir. How can I help you Dennis? Uh, I’ve got the chance of a lady next door who’s going to sell her car. I see. And uh, I’d just like to get a price and a reasonable valuation on it. Something for you to buy from her, is that correct? Yeah, that’s the idea, yeah. Okay. Alright, what sort of, what sort of car is it?

It’s a Mitsubishi Lancer, GSI, four door sedan. Eighty eight. Nineteen eighty eight. Yes. Gee, alright, so it’s 36 years old. Nearly as old as us. Ha ha ha, nearly. Alright, so I’m assuming. It’s got 88, 000 Ks on it. 88, 000 on it, has it? Gee. It’s great for informatics. Right, and it’s on automatic as well, gee. What a, what a great little In good condition really.

Well, I’ve looked after it, stopped it in the game, for years, for 60 years. Carbon paint, an old, an old vehicle kind of thing, you know? Yeah, yeah. Look, these sort of cars now, particularly when they’ve got, um, low kilometres like that, they, they’re Look, they’re 10 or 15 years ago, they weren’t worth any money at all.

But now, um, but now they’ve really sort of, that sort of changed people like that nostalgic sort of, um, look back on, on cars. So look, I think realistically something that would be fair, um, would be somewhere around that three to 4, 000 range. And, but it is a rough idea because I just haven’t seen one for such a long Yeah, it’s in good condition really for Dorset Town.

Yeah. She’s the only one that’s ever drove it, by myself. It’d be good to see you take it over and look after it for into the future. Well, one of the granddaughters of my partner, Ah, I see. needs it. They need a second car in the family. Fair enough. And so I’m good for them for that. Yeah. Well, I think it’s one of those cars that if you bought it, you certainly wouldn’t lose any money.

It’ll just continue to grow in value a little bit over. Alright. Okay, well, thanks very much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Dennis. Alright, we’ve got Terry on the line. Good morning, Terry. Oh, good morning, Adam. How are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? I’ve got, I’ve got, I’ve got a, well, I’ve had it for about 27 years now.

I’ve got a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel ute, manufactured November 94. It’s done 310, 000 kilometers. It’s the, um, I think it’s the HZ model. It’s got the straight six, uh, purple, 4. 2. 4. 2 diesel. Alright, uh, and you’ve had it, did you say you’ve had it for 27 years? Well I, I bought it in early 96, um, and it was a November 94 model, I bought it, uh, I was the second owner.

So it was like an ex government one or something like that back then? No, no, actually he was, uh, my brother in law’s, he was in the, uh, excavation industry. Ah, I see. He, he, he, he, He , he turned over his vehicles fairly quickly, so I understand. He gave me a good deal and, uh, I, I, I, I bought it. Yeah. Alright. Got a lot of, uh, oldies but goodies today, that’s for sure.

Oh yeah. Look, it’s not, um, rusty or anything like that. It’s, it’s, oh no, it’s, it’s, uh, very good condition. I, I old. About three years ago I replaced one of the plates on the, on the deck, you know, it got a couple of holes in it, you know, on the tray. But other than that, it’s, uh, brilliant, no, not had a, it’s never let me down.

Oh, that’s good. All right. Look, I think, um, somewhere between that 13 to 15 range is, is probably what you’d ask for if you’re going to sell it privately. Alright. Alright. Okey doke. Alright. Thank you very much. You’re welcome, Terry. Appreciate your call. Yeah, thank you for your call, Terry. All our lines are free, 5520 8888. We’d better keep going on propulsion, we haven’t got past that yet. And I’m still waiting. So we talked about the two, um, top level, um, in sales. So petrol was number one and diesel number two. Our hybrid, uh, is, was actually up a hundred percent on last year, last month. So 11, 447.

So that’s really becoming quite, uh, dominant. So we’re going to see more of that. Uh, electric, uh, was very close, it was 10, 000 electric vehicles. So the hybrid out and did the, uh, EVs? It did, but also the distortion was that in January, uh, Tesla didn’t deliver a lot of their vehicles because they had an issue with some cars that were coming in that weren’t able to be delivered.

Okay, alright. So it was topped up. So it would more likely be higher than that. Yes. Uh, and then, uh, yeah, so, and then we’ve, right at the end, we’ve got, uh, the plug in hybrids, and there’s only a thousand and thirty four of those, so definitely the hybrid is, is, uh, picking up. Is picking up. Yeah. Okay, wait and see.

Watch this space. All right, we’ve got, uh, Cherry on the line. Good morning, Cherry. Good morning, Cherry. Hello. Hi, how are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? I’ve got a Land Cruiser, 2019 Sahara, silver, grey interior, done 60, 000km at the diesel automatic. Diesel automatic, alright. Uh, it’s got 60, 000, it’s silver.

Does it have any bull bars or anything like that on it, Cherry? Colour coded bull bar. Um, I don’t think there’s anything else I want. Spotlights, that’s about it. Spotlights, alright. Uh, and are you looking to sell privately, or do you like private and trade, or? Yeah, privately please. Okay, alright. Uh, look, they have come back in value, they went up.

To a ridiculous level. Uh, one of the things that has brought them back down in value is you can now get the 300 series in stock and they’re starting to discount those. So that’s how, it is having an impact. Um, but, uh, like this car in 2019 was about 125 on the road. Uh, and I still think it would bring, uh, in the early 100.

So probably around that 105 sort of mark as a, as a resale. Okay. Alright. Okay. Thank you for that. You’re welcome. Thank you for your call. Alright. We’ve got Tony on the line. Good morning, Tony. Good morning, Adam. How can I help you, Tony? Adam, um, I’m ringing for a, uh, Mercedes 200 compressor evolution. It’s, it’s my wife’s car, and I bought it brand new when she turned 60.

She’s now 80, so she’s thinking of hanging up the gloves. Um, it’s in impeccable condition, always had preventive maintenance carried out. Showing about 67, 000 k’s on the clock. And it’s impeccable all around, Adam. Interior, brand new. Not a mark on it. A real good car. Alright, and so it’s 20 years old, it’s a 2004 is it?

Yeah. 2001. Oh, 2001. Okay. All. Yeah. 2001. Geez. 67,000 kilometers. Uh, very low kilometers. Mm-Hmm. , Tony, it’s. Tennis car, I call it. Tennis car? That’s what she ever did with it. Ok, very good. She drove to tennis and home and that’s it. Very good. The tennis racket cut out. She liked using my pressure. Yeah. Look, it’s, generally one of these from 2001 is not worth a lot of money at all, but yours with 67, 000 does, um, certainly, uh, does help.

I think, uh, I would be, if you’re going to sell it privately, probably in that 4, range is what I would be asking. Ok. Thank you. Thanks. I won’t be spelling it. I’ve got two granddaughters that have put their hands up. Ah, very good. Oh, that’s it. That’s a good way to go. Definitely. Yeah, I like to keep them in a family because it’s an impeccable condition.

Sounds good. But I just wanted to know, you know, what we’re gifting them. That’s all. Yes, I understand. Alright, Tony. Well, I appreciate your call. Thanks for your time, Adam. God bless you. Appreciate you talking to me. Thank you. Bye bye. Alright, we’ve got Merv on the line. Good morning, Merv. Good morning. Joe, Joe, good morning to you.

I don’t know how you’re doing. Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Uh, I’ve got a Nissan maximum TI, uh, 2007. It’s done 113,000 and I’d like to say it’s in the same condition it was when I drove it off to show Paul. Ah, uh, and, uh, I’ve looked after it and loved for last, uh, 17 years or whatever it is. So I was just wondering what the figure might be worth.

Okay. Alright. Uh, sounds like a very nice car. What color is it? Merv. Uh, it’s a, uh, a blueish color. Oh, I think blue gray. I think I know the color. Yeah. Uh, uh, once again, uh, the average one of these has probably got well over 200,000 kilometers and they sell at a, uh, now in that sort of two to 3000 range.

But yours is different because it’s, it’s got 113 on it. Uh, I think probably around that 6,000 mark would be the right price to ask. Alright, very much for your help. You’re welcome, thank you for your call. Bye bye. Bye bye. Alright, we’ve got George on the line. Good morning George. Good morning, how are you?

Very well, thank you. How can I help you? I have George, George. Is your radio Is your Turn your radio off please. Okay. Okay, that’s better. How can I help you George? I have Honda Legend, uh, 2000 2000 model Honda Legend, yes? Yes. Yes, and I’ve done 188, 000 cases. 188, all right. Gee, this, um Same effect, current condition, gold in color, full service history, Mm.

leather interior. Mm. This was a very expensive car new. It was about 80, 000. It is. About 80, 000 when it was new, 24 years. Yes, but I am only one owner. One owner from new. All right. Yeah. Uh The sad thing is, there’s not a lot of value left there now. So, if you’re able to hang on to it, it’s, it’s a lot of car for, for what they’re worth.

Uh, uh, the, the last one I saw, which is a fair while ago now, but, uh, similar kilometers, uh, was for sale in that sort of four to 5, 000 range. Okay. Thank you very much. You’re welcome, George. I appreciate your call.

Ouch. That hurts, doesn’t it? Ouch. It hurts. It hurts 24 years ago though. I, I hate, I hate finishing on an ouch. We’ve got Ron on the line. Oh, gee, thank you Adam, but you’re on to it. Good morning Ron. Oh, good morning. Let’s finish on a high. Yeah, yeah, high, come on. I’m not on a high, but um, I hope someone is.

I’ve got a Lexus 2019. Lexus. Um, uh, sports, um, black Spark and finish 55,000 Ks on the clock. Uh, what else can I tell you? Is it a, is it an RX or nx or do you know nx, sorry, NX 300? Yeah. Ah, NX 300. All right. Uh, and it’s black, uh, and it’s a sports luxury. Is that right? Yeah. So. So it’s a yaw walker, all right, and sunroof and all that, uh, and it’s got, did you say 55, 000 on it?

55, 000 something, yeah. All right, now, would you like a private sale value as well as a trade value, Ron? Uh, both if you wouldn’t mind. All right. Uh, and it’s not a hybrid, is it? It’s only the, it’s the petrol? The petrol one, yeah. Okay. Standard one. Alright. I think as a private sale for that one, uh, you should be expecting, uh, in the really late 30s to 40 for it.

Uh. Yep. And if you were to trade it in, it’d be around that 34 to 35. Okay, Adam, thank you very much indeed. You’re very welcome. Thank you for your call, Ron. Okay, well that’s better, we’re on a high. That was a high. Terrific. Alright, that’s our program for this Tuesday. Hey Adam, if anyone’s missed out on getting onto you, what’s your mobile number for Um, giving them a price.

Of course, uh, 0404 290 617. Okay mate, thanks a lot. I’ll look forward to being with you again next Tuesday. Thank you.  You’re listening to 4CRB’s interviews and talkback series. What’s Your Car Worth is sponsored by Hall Group Consultancy. Contact Adam Hall. It’s the new easy way to sell your car. Yes, it is the new easy way to sell your car. And we’ll tell you more about that as we move through our program. If you’re just joining us for the first time, welcome to What’s Your Car Worth.

with, uh, a man of many years experience in the motor industry, hosting the program, uh, every, uh, Tuesday, and has a, a 99. 9 percent success rate in valuations on your vehicle, and that’s pretty good. Welcome. Good morning. I don’t know about that one. I’ll do my best to keep up with that. I know, but on a serious note, it is very important these days for you to get a real start, a starting price because the fluctuations still continue in the marketplace.

And if you price it too high, you’ll just be sitting there on a website or in a book and getting nowhere. I have, I’ve been talking to a lot of people of late who’ve I’ve been trying to, to go about selling their car and exactly what you just spoke about and they’re wondering, why is this car not selling?

I see that there’s others online at a similar sort of price and people generally have that problem. belief that they’ve looked after their own car, um, better. But there’s a lot of cars out there at the moment that are just priced incorrectly and people are really starting to, uh, there’s not a shortage of cars out there.

So they’re really starting to search and, and even get discounts and that sort of thing on what they’re looking for. So, you’ve really got to make sure you price your car right to get it sold. It’s so hard because Australians have that emotional connection to their car. So then when it comes to move on and sell the vehicle, they factor the emotional aspect into the car, price wise, and that just doesn’t work.

Oh, that’s right. I think we also have, uh, Uh, remember what we paid for a car too. Oh, well that hurts. And they do, they do depreciate over time and then there’s the, the investment in maintenance and all those sorts of things along the way. Uh, but it’s, there’s exceptions to the rule, but there’s, it is a depreciating asset.

Yes, it’s amazing too in this, uh, this environment of soaring prices, particularly in fuel and, uh, uh, The, um, the community is investing in new motor cars. They’re really surging though. The prices are just all over the place, aren’t they? That’s true. All right, we’ve got our first caller. And if you would like to join us, you can by calling 5520 8888 is the number, and you’ll get directly on to Adam Hall.

Now it’s good morning to Erica. Erica, go ahead. Good morning, Erica. Good morning, mine is a testimonial, and I would like to thank Adam Hall for, um, selling, buying my car so quickly and easily. Indeed, your ad is correct. It was quick, it was, um, painless, and Better than I’d hoped for, and um, there was the money in the bank within seconds.

Oh, that’s great. I appreciate you saying that, Erica. Thank you, Adam. That’s very kind of you. Erica, you, you express what we find it hard to do on air, because um, A, Adam doesn’t like talking about those sorts of things, and secondly, it’s very hard to, you know, put, Put, put it into words, and you’ve put it into words exactly why, uh, our program here is so popular, and why, uh, Adam’s business is, um, is, is ticking along nicely, and, uh, it’s just, uh, pe treating people with respect, isn’t it?

I really appreciate your comment. Yes. And it was, uh, it, it was low key Aussie approach. It wasn’t over the top. No thank, you know, pushing, nothing like that. Thank you, Adam. Thank you so much, Erica. Good on you, Erica. Thank you so much. Bye-Bye. Okay, we’re what? We’re off to a flying start. Uh, we’ve got, uh, Barbara on the line.

Good morning, Barbara. Good morning, Adam. Um, I’m, I’m just ringing up to see if I can get evaluation on a Mitsubishi Triton dual cab GLS. GLX, alright, and what year model is that? GLS. Ah, GLS. Yeah, 2019. 2019. Correct. Registered March 2020. Okay, and it’s done 50, 000 kilometers 50, 000. All right Perfect condition.

All right Sounds sounds very nice Yeah, and at the Colours white diamond. White diamond, alright. Very good colour. Has it got any extras on it, Barbara, like bull bars or canopies or anything like that? It’s got bull bar, yeah. It’s got all that sort of, yeah. Beautiful car. Alright, sounds very nice. Uh, would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade figure?

Yes, yes, thanks. All right. Uh, I think if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be expecting, uh, in the middle thirties for it, so around that, uh, thirty five mark, uh, and if you were to trade it in it’s going to be about three to four thousand less than that. Oh, lovely. All right. Okay. Okay. Thanks.

Thanks for your help, Adam. You’re welcome. Thank you, Barbara. Thank you for your call, Barbara, and all our lines are now free, and you can get directly onto Adam Hall if you ring 5520 8888 for a real time valuation on your baby, your big beast that’s sitting in the garage there. You might be time to get a valuation on that, and you can upgrade to a sporty small car.

Like I did once and then lost it. He lost it. You’ve got too many speeding fines I think. That is true. All in the one spot. All in the one spot. I love Rudd Street, isn’t it amazing? Alright, I bet I’ve got a few friends out there as well being caught at Rudd Street. Alright, uh, 552088. Double 8 is the number for you to talk directly for a valuation on your motorcar with Adam Hall.

And don’t forget the revaluation for Centrelink and insurance purposes. All right, um, top of the list was, uh, BZ4X. Sounds like a missile. Really, uh, really rolls off the tongue that name, doesn’t it? This is, uh, Toyota’s, uh, new electric vehicle, which is now on sale. I actually drove past the dealership yesterday and saw one out the front.

I was actually quite impressed. It’s, I think they’ve done a very good job at, um, with the aesthetic of the car. Whereas a lot of electric cars you see, they just don’t look like that. That just don’t look nice. Yes, yeah. I think the design is pretty good. Yeah, it does look good from the pictures, the pics I’ve seen.

Big surprise is probably the pricing, uh, the expectation was that it was going to be more, uh, than, than what they’ve released it at. Uh, it starts at about 66, 000 plus your on road costs. 000 for the standard two wheel drive and then there’s the all wheel drive model which comes with a lot of other extras as well.

Uh, and that’s about 9, 000 more so you’re talking a little over 80, 000 on the road for one of those. Uh, size wise it’s about the same size as the RAV4. Yes. Uh, but uh, probably the only disappointing, surprising thing was the the driving range. Yes. The average, I think, was about 436 kilometers, and I would have thought maybe Toyota would have gone a bit further than that.

Yes, yeah, and that’s the sticking point, uh, with all manufacturers at the moment. That’s right. Yeah, no one’s, no one’s made that breakthrough. No, no, that’s right. And, uh, there’s only 1, 500 of these coming into the country, uh, this year. So, if you consider that there’s, uh, about 220 dealers in Australia, they’re only going to get about six or seven each in a year.

So, um, they’re not expecting to get rushed off their feet by the sound of it. No, but I think, uh, I think there won’t be any discounts either. No, there’ll be no discounts either. But at one point, at one factor, Uh, in the car, having a look at the car that I like, because I, when I sit into a, sit in a conventional EV car at the present time, uh, to me they’re boring because there’s no instrument panel.

And I love, I love to scan the instruments. You got the, the center, the center touch pad, but, uh, that’s not, In your face, and Toyota have now got a, an instrument, uh, screen, uh, behind the steering wheel there, right in front of you, plus the touch pad. Yeah. And it just adds to the internals that I think, uh, are a bit more It’s all about what we’re used to, and what we feel comfortable with, and that’s, that does make a difference.

It does indeed. Okay, it’s good morning to, uh, Leanne. Good morning Leanne. Hello. How can I help you Leanne? Uh, I wanted to get a price on, uh, probably a private price on selling my Audi A5. Audi A5, alright. Uh, what year model is your Audi? 2012. 2012, alright. Uh, now is it a diesel or a petrol one? Petrol.

Petrol. Alright. Petrol. Petrol, so it’s just the 2 litre TFSI? Uh, yeah, the sports edition one. Ah, the sport, alright. And how many kilometres has it travelled? Uh, 130, 000. 130, 000, alright. Uh, and the colour? Uh, that dark gray. Dark gray. All right. They have come back at fair bit in price. These, uh, and they’re not the easiest to sell ’cause there’s so many people out there now just wanting to go SUV.

Uh, so this is probably a great example of where you really need to make sure you price it right. Uh. I think, uh, for a private figure, uh, I think somewhere around that 16 to 17 maybe is where you should ask. Yep. Alright? Yep, that’s what I was thinking. I was hoping for a little bit more because we just did it up and spent a bit of money on it.

Yeah, I understand. But it’s just really important that you, instead of, um, having it sit on the market, it’s best to get the money in your pocket as quickly as you can. Quickly as you can and I think that’s that’s the sort of price bracket it should be in. All right. very much. Leanne. Enjoy your day. Bye bye.

Bye. Bye bye, Leanne. Thank you for your call. All right, um, all our lines are free again at 5520 8888 for you getting directly onto Adam Hall for evaluation on your motor car. Um, I think we wrapped up the test. Toyota BZ4. Do you happen to know what that stands for at all? I have no idea. I don’t think it stands for anything.

Fair enough. That clears that one up. What an interesting name though. It’s incredible. Yes. I would have thought that it might be It just doesn’t fit the car. No, it doesn’t. No, it doesn’t fit the car. Alright, and now, whilst we’re on Toyota, um, Toyota and fuel emission standards. Well, I was reading a story a couple of days ago and the vice president was talking about the fact that if these fuel efficiency standards are passed in Australia, that he believes that the end of the diesel engine in mainstream vehicles is coming very soon, because it will car companies to manufacture.

Right now, uh, diesel engines are, they’re good for a lot of reasons. Performance, uh, they’re pretty cheap to manufacture. Uh, so there’s a, and There’s a big part of the market buying, buying them. Yes. Especially for commercial uses. Particularly country Australia. That’s right. Country Australia. But if these fuel efficiency standards are passed, and let’s say a Toyota Hilux is 15, 000 more, or a Toyota Land Cruiser is is 25, 000 more, well the market just won’t pay that amount of money to, um, to be in a diesel vehicle, so, uh.

What, what’s the flow on effect of that happening, like for my Massey Ferguson tractor that I’ve got in the corner of the paddock? Yeah, that’s, that’s another thing as well. With the generators Generators in particular, then, you know, what happens to those, uh, flow on, the ripple effect going into the, uh, into, once again, the man on the land.

Yeah, well, I think their focus right now is just to come down hard on the vehicle manufacturers that are importing cars into Australia to make sure that they’ve got across the board, um, they meet this standard. Uh, but when you’ve got. The most popular vehicles in Australia, which we know are the Hilux and Ranger and Isuzu D Max, and they’re all pretty much diesel.

Um, it, it forms a big part of the market. So it’s going to be very difficult for those manufacturers. manufacturers that are making those vehicles to be able to offset it with fuel efficient ones like the BZ4X and, uh, other hybrids. Yeah, yeah. So, it’s, uh, it’s, I don’t know, I just think maybe, uh, heading towards that is a, I think it’s a good thing, but I think the timing.

It just doesn’t work right now. Yes, the ripple effect, and we’ve seen it in decisions being made with automated, remember the big media run on automated vehicles, hands off driving, and this is going to be the way of the future, and of course it’s not, and that was proven to be a false piece of technology that wasn’t wanted.

Well, I also read last week that because Google had been, uh, working on this, this electric car, which would have done all of those things as well. And they’ve spent billions and billions of dollars on this vehicle, and they’ve suddenly pulled out of it. They’re not going to do that anymore. Yes. Look, uh, there’s a long way to go with our car industry in total.

And, uh, and let’s not forget the man on the land. And that’s what Australia is all about. We’ve got to be stuck. We’ve got to make our decisions based on the man on the land. Yeah. And then we in capital cities will blend in with that. But we’ve got to look after the, uh, the engineering aspect of the man on the land and what he needs to, uh, be competitive and, uh, what he has to use.

Well, we’ve, we’ve built up this infrastructure to support those engines for, for many, many, many years. And to suddenly flip that and change it. Yes, it’s a big, it’s a big call. Okay, hey, gee, all our lines are free. That is a weird situation to look at when I look at that monitor that’s usually lighting up like a Christmas tree.

We’ve been talking too much. We’ve been talking too much. Now it’s time for you to join us. And, uh, Adams is waiting for your call right now on 5520 888. We’ll go to a short break and be right back. Check out the real Adam Hall. Log on to Adam Hall. Buy my car.com au or call 0 4 0 4 2 9 0 6 1 7. Okay. And this is our program. What’s your car worth? And uh, our phone number is double five two zero eight eight eight for you to talk to Adam Hall right now. Okay, Adam. Um. I just wanted to mention, uh, last week there was a lady that called in who had a 1990 model Ford F 150.

Uh, her name was Robin. If you’re listening, Robin, I probably need to get a few more details, uh, about your car because it’s a very different one, uh, being that it’s a 6. 5 litre, uh, V8 turbo diesel. So if we could talk off air, um, you could, you can phone my mobile number, that would be great. Uh, but, uh, hopefully I’ll talk to you soon.

Okay, that was for Robin. Yes. Okay, and the vehicle again, a Ford? Ford F 150. F 150. The big one. Vroom, vroom. Vroom, vroom. Vroom, vroom. Okay, going vroom, vroom. Kia have got a, uh, an entry into the utility market. They have, and there’s been talk about this for a very, probably close to ten years now, about Kia coming out with a ute, but they’ve, they’ve really, uh, worked hard on, Vroom, vroom.

bringing something to market that Australians are going to accept and their statement is that, uh, this vehicle will be the most Australian product ever. And what they mean by that is that all of their testing for this vehicle has been in Australia. So all the, uh, suspension testing, all the performance testing, all of those things.

So it suits Australian driving conditions. And what you were talking about, the man on the land, that’s a very important part. of the market for utes in Australia. Yes. Uh, and if you don’t, uh, consider what the man on the land needs, You won’t get there. you won’t get there. Yeah, that’s good thinking. And it’s called the Kia Tasman.

Kia Tasman. So it’s got a very Australian, uh, name. Yep. Uh, it’s, there’s, there’s a few spy photos online at the moment. Uh, doesn’t really give you a, a, a clue. Uh, good guide as to what it’s going to look like, but I think they’ll get it right. I think TIA have been doing a pretty good job. They do. They turn out a pretty good, a pretty good product too.

They do. When’s that available? When, when is that expected to launch? 2025. Not sure the, uh, what, uh, what month it’ll be, but, uh, they’ve definitely said it’ll be coming out next year. Okay. And, uh, gee, no wonder, no wonder I’m, I’m paying a fortune for my wheat fix. Oh, this is it. We’re talking about transport costs.

Uh, I was talking to Wayne about this before the program and, uh, the stats are, and vehicle costs are costing us so much now and that is fuel, that’s, uh, Uh, insurance, registration, all of those things in the last 12 months have risen by far more, uh, than inflation. So and it’s actually triple, uh, over triple.

So 13 percent was the increase in, in transport costs that covers all those, all those individual costs and our inflation rate was 4. 1%. So it really shows how we’re struggling in that area. It is very difficult. very difficult. Let’s hope the, uh, the federal government can come up with something sooner rather than later.

And, um, the The Land Cruiser with the V eight engine. Oh gee, I love those v eights . Well, the, the Land Cruiser wagon no longer, uh, comes with a, with a V eight engine, but the only one that remains is the 70 series. So the one that comes, the one that looks like it’s from the eighties? Yes, but it’s, uh, so it comes in the u the single cab unit and the dual cab.

They also come in a wagon, uh. There’s still orders outstanding for these v eights, but there’s been an indication that that will be the last, the orders of them orders that we’ll get fulfilled. So you won’t be able to order one of those again. They’re now available in a four cylinder, which is the same engine, uh, that is in the Hilux and the Toyota Prodo and the Fortuner.

Mm-Hmm. Uh, so they’re really encouraging people to change their orders now from the V eight, uh, into the, the four cylinder. Into the four cylinder. I’m sure a lot, lot of those V eight buyers will. Be reluctant to do that. When’s the next reporting, reporting period end in terms of the Hilux or the Ranger versus the Hilux in one and two?

Oh, well, it’s every month and generally I have the results by, uh, should be by tomorrow. So next week’s program. That’ll be an interesting, that’ll be an interesting year to see what’s happened there. Definitely. You know, I’ve seen some advertising lately with, uh, Toyota really pushing that they have stock now.

Uh, so they’re really trying to, uh, catch up. They will do it eventually. Okay, it’s good morning to Barry. Barry, go ahead. Good morning, Barry. Good morning. I have an Audi A5. You’ve got an A5 as well. Yeah. Two of those this morning. It’s a 2010. 2010? Convertible. Oh, convertible, alright. Convertible, alright. Done 71, 000 kilometres.

Gee, 71, 000. Yeah. Yep. Very local modus. Yep. Uh, and is it the two liter, uh, petrol? Yes, it is. Two liter. Yes. It’s two liter, yes. Alright. Uh, now does it have an S line package or anything like that, Barry, or just a No, no, no, no. S line. Have you had this car a long time? Yes, about five years. Five years, alright.

Kilometres are very low, very low for a 2010. Uh, there’s a limit to what they’re worth though, because it is, it is 14 years of age. Uh, is it conditioned very good, Barry? It’s good condition, yes. Alright. Uh, I think you’re, you’re, it’s going to be a rough idea, but I think your private sale value is going to be in that 15 to 18 thousand range.

Right. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. All right. Thanks very much. You’re welcome. Thank you for your call. Yes. Thank you for your call, Barry. All right. Well, we’re down to it’s 27 minutes past 10. Uh, we’ve got the usual rush coming on. I would expect you, if you get on the phone now, we’ll take your call. So let’s do the usual hundred and, uh, we’ll answer your, give you your valuation in quickly.

Find quick smart time. Okay, and, um, Mazda are facing, um, Mazda have been naughty. They have, apparently. Well, it costs them. The ACCC have ruled this, and what this relates to, they’ve just been fined 11 and a half million dollars by the ACCC, and what this relates to is that Uh, several customers, uh, have had what’s deemed to be major faults with their vehicles.

And what sometimes the manufacturers will do, they’ll try and repair the vehicles when the customer is requesting a full refund. And that’s a breach of the Australian Consumer Law. If something is a major fault. Yes. And it takes a, lot of time. Fair period of time to fix it, the customers entitled to a full refund.

Full refund. So I think it was about seven or eight different models of cars from 2013 to 2018. But there was several examples of where they’ve refused a refund and just tried to keep fixing the car. Um, but ah, they’ve done it. been hit with a pretty incredible fine, eleven and a half million dollars.

There’s a lesson learned. So it’s pretty good warning for other manufacturers out there as well. Yeah. But also to the consumer, if you have a major, major, major fault. The protection is there for them. It is, that’s right. Yeah, okay. I can see a call coming in at the moment, so we’ll just go quickly to used car supply.

Still up or down? Oh, there we go. We’ve got Sue there, we’d better take a call. Sue, good morning. Good morning, Sue. Oh, good morning. Hi. How can I help you? Um, well, I’m just wondering what my Lexus 350 sports luxury would be worth. Is it an RX 350 is it? RX 350. All right. Done 56, 000 kilometers and it’s a 216.

And, yeah. And it’s a Sports Luxury and it’s a 2016. Alright. Uh, 2016, 56 and Sports Luxury. And what colour is it Sue? Uh, Titanium Silver. Titanium Silver. Alright. Would you like Private Sale and Trade? Uh, just, yeah, Private. Alright. Uh, I think if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be expecting, uh, in the early 40s for that one, so around the 42.

Alright. Alright. Okay. All right. All right. Okay. Excellent. very much. Thank you for your call. Bye bye. Bye. All right. We’ve got Peter on the line. Good morning, Peter. Good morning, Adam. How can I help you, Peter? Um, I’ve got a 2020 Landcruiser 200 VX. Um, I’m thinking about selling. I see. It’s Crystal Pearl, done 50, 000 kilometres.

50, 000, alright. Um, Crystal Pearl, 50, 000. Uh, and Has it got any extras on it, Peter? Bull bars or anything like that? It’s got a tow bar and a dual battery system. Alright. And has it got the black leather or the beige leather? The black leather. Black leather? Black. Alright, sounds like a very nice vehicle. It is.

Would you like private sale or trade figure or? Uh, both please, if you can. Alright, certainly. Uh, I think if you were to, uh, they have come back a bit in price now, now, but, uh, I think if you were to sell it privately, uh, still very good resale compared to what they were new. I think you should be expecting around the 95 mark for it.

Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’s going to be about 10 percent less than that. Yeah, that’s good. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Peter. Appreciate your call. Yes, thank you, Peter, for your call. Okay, that just about wraps it up for this edition of What’s Your Car Worth?  You are listening to four CRBs interviews and talkback series. What’s your car Worth is sponsored by Hall Group Consultancy. Contact Adam Hall. It’s the new easy way to sell your car. Yes, it is the new easy way to sell your car and we’ll tell you more about that later on. But for now, I have the man right in front of me.

It. He’ll, he’s got his, he’s got his old, uh, his old book, . He doesn’t, he doesn’t have any technology. If you’re joining us for the first time, oh, first of all, good morning to Adam Hall. Good morning, Wayne . Nice to have you back again, mate. Thank you. And, um, the, he doesn’t have, uh, any of the red books, blue books or yellow books, uh, that they put out, or he doesn’t have a laptop in front of him.

He’s got a, a, a sgy old pencil that he uses and, and a book that’s well worn and. The rest of it is in his mind, and it’s an amazing mind, uh, full of, uh, many years in the car industry. And his objective is to give you a real time valuation, uh, so that, uh, that websites and books take a while to get out into the marketplace.

And in that time, your car price could go anywhere. That’s that’s absolutely right. And one of the things, uh, I know I wasn’t with the pr with the show last week, but, uh, the show before that, uh, during our program that, uh, morning, we had, uh, a lot of interest in insurance valuations. And, uh, really, it this is another category, uh, that you should check with Adam, because you could be paying too much in premiums for a car that you’ve got valued, and now the valuation has changed so much that it needs adjusting.

That’s right. I’m getting a lot of calls, uh, within the program, but also after as well. A lot of people are concerned that the pricing that the insurance companies, there’s some that are still a little bit too low, uh, particularly with people that have got cars that have only traveled really low kilometers, uh, the insurance companies aren’t taking that into account.

Um, but on the, on the flip side, there’s, there’s a lot there that are. where people are over insured at the moment and which, which translates into a much higher premium. Yes. So we can save you some money also in that area. And of course, if you’re wanting to sell your car privately or as a trade in, Adam can give you a real time valuation for that vehicle and get you off to a great start as we will with Erica this morning, Erica.

Good morning. Good morning. Is it Erica? Yes. Yes, that’s right. Hello, Erica. How can I help you? I’m wondering, do you do caravans? We are looking to buy one. A caravan, ah, I don’t, I don’t. Every now and then I have somebody that calls me that is looking to sell a car in a caravan, but it’s pretty rare, Erica. If you’re in a hurry to buy something, I’m probably not the right person.

Um, but I can, I can speak to you after the program if you wish. Okay. Alright. I’ll text you. Alright, thank you Erica. Okay. Thank you for that, Erica. What’s your caravan worth? Well, I suppose we could, I don’t see what’s your car worth, uh, closing doors in the short term, but, uh, it might be something. It is really tricky to price caravans because they’ve all, they have so many different features.

Yes. Uh, and if they’ve, let’s say, I remember looking at one that had two single beds, uh, instead of a double bed, which is a big detractor on for the, for the average person. Yes. Uh, and the difference in value is incredible. So it’s something that I really haven’t got, haven’t got the knowledge, I haven’t got the knowledge.

All right. Well, uh, well, all our lines of. free, waiting for you to give us a call. And this program really is your program. We’re here to help you. And there’s no charge as well, because if you go on to the, some of the websites, they can charge you up to 40 to get a specific evaluation on your motor car.

But this one is all on the house. Our compliments to you. So, 55208888 is the number. For you, get a realtime valuation on your car. If you wanna do a trade in a private sale, or you’re going to an auction, or you want to get a revaluation for Centrelink or insurance purposes. Um, you can check it out with Adam right now on double 5 2 0 double eight.

Double eight. Okay. Uh, we might start with without ev Car of the Year. Yes. Uh, this seems to be a, a pretty, uh, common thing now that, uh, a lot of the, uh, publications that, uh, rate. New cars coming through, they tend to be leaning towards electric cars for their car of the year. So the Kia EV9 was announced last night as the drive car of the year.

You may have seen the ads on TV, they’ve been really pumping the advertising on that vehicle. And it’s a smart car. A smart looking vehicle. It is. It is a smart looking vehicle. But it’s an expensive vehicle. It is. It’s, uh, I was having a look at the pricing and it’s, uh, starts, by the time you get it on the road, it’s about 105, 000.

Yeah, gee, it’s getting up there, isn’t it? And that’s for the base model. Yeah, that’s the base model. And by the time you get up to the GT line, you’re up at about 135, 000. Gee, that’s getting So really, I think the concerning thing about, uh, when they’re rating these cars now Other, is it getting to a point that the average person can’t afford the car of the year?

I think people want to see, uh, the value in there as well, because there’s so many people out there that just, well, there’s so many cars that are sold well under 100, 000. And well under 50, 000 is where most of the action happens with new cars. So, to give a car of the year to something that’s so expensive, I just don’t know whether that’s, um Yeah, and it’s a full electric, isn’t it?

Full electric car. We’re not talking hybrid here. That’s right, and it’s quite a big SUV too. Yeah. It’s about the size of a Toyota Prado, so Uh, it’s, it’s a lot of money when you think about paying and, and, and, uh, Kia, that Kia model is not on its own. A lot of the electric cars in the up market are in the up market, um, segment.

They are, price wise, they are. Um, and to pay that sort of money for a car that really is building its history at the moment, it has no history, no on resale. No. So we’re in a building phase and that, that at this stage hasn’t been shown to be, uh. Well, we don’t know. Will it hold its value with the cost of the replacement of the batteries coming into play?

Well, there was talk about, uh, I read this story about, um, how, uh, Tesla wanted to place themselves in the market. Did they want to just be a mainstream, uh, manufacturer of cars? And that’s, that’s what their intention was. Yeah. It’s sort of considered as a luxury vehicle, and it really only comes down to the price of the car.

That’s what it is, and nothing else other than that. So they’ve accidentally become a luxury car brand, but because of the cost of that technology of electric, uh, motors. Yes. It’s, uh, it puts them into that, that higher category. Yes, it’s, uh, a little, uh, some risk in buying one, but nevermind, it’s a lot of enjoyment.

They’re smart motor cars and they look very smart. All right, let’s, uh, go to our next caller. We’ve got Anne on the line. Good morning, Anne. Good morning. How can I help you, Anne? Well, 2014 Subaru Outback registered first in 2015. I see. Uh, right. 139,000 Ks on the clock. 1 39. All right. Uh, now is it the, is it the top of the range one?

Does it have leather tree? No, it’s the one below. The one below. All right. Yeah, without the sunroof and leather seats. Alright, and uh, and what color is it in? It’s a silvery gold. Silvery gold. I know the color. Alright. Alright. Twenty fourteen, a hundred thirty nine. And would you like, uh, a private sale figure as well as a trade?

Yes, please. And also for insurance. Alright. Uh, I have just reinsured it. Alright, so it’s just registered. Alright, I’ll start with insurance. Uh, I think for insurance purposes, uh, you should, uh, have it insured around the 17 mark. Uh, if, uh, for a private. It’s going to be a bit lower than that. So around the 15 to 16, uh, and trade value will be another couple of thousand below that as well.

And thank you so very, very much. You’re very welcome. Thank you, Anne. I appreciate you. Thank you. Bye bye. Thanks. I listen to you every week. Oh, thank you. Oh gee, I’m here too. I know, I listen to you guys and I listen to Don Glover. I listen to 4C. I’ve been four radios. In the 4CRB. Oh, you’re gorgeous too.

Thank you so much. Bye bye now. Thank you. Bye bye. Goodbye. Alright, we’ve got George on the line. Good morning, George. Yes, hello. How can I help you, George? Yeah, I’m just um, wondering with selling a vehicle that um, is on a um, repairable write off. I’m wondering how I can advertise that. Is there a way, if I may?

Okay, uh So, it’s a repaired write off that’s been inspected and passed, is that correct? Correct, yeah. Everything’s been done and I’ve had it now for almost 2 years. OK. 2019 Ford Ranger. Ford Ranger, OK. Alright, well look, the best thing to do is When you advertise it, is just to, are you talking about putting it on car sales or Facebook Marketplace or?

That’s correct, yeah. Alright. Facebook, yeah, Marketplace. Alright, well when you put it on Marketplace, you just need to put it into your description and just make it very clear. Uh, a good, a good thing that people do, I don’t know how much damage it had at the time, but, uh, I is to off, if you have photos of, of what the damage was.

Not to put it in the ad, but make it available to, to say to people, yeah, this is, this is the, the impact damage that it had. And um, the photos are available at request because a lot of people will build that picture in their mind. Oh, the car’s been written off and they sometimes will, will. think that it’s worse than it possibly was.

Yes, it is. Yeah, it could be. Yeah, and the last thing is you’ve just got to make sure you price it right because people, uh, will, they expect to buy them for a lot less than the equipment. Yeah, that’s correct. Alright? Yeah, so they do actually, you can still sell them obviously. Absolutely. And it’s very good for the parasite.

Yeah. No reason it can’t be stopped. Yeah. I personally don’t get involved in written off eagles at all, but there is a lot on the market. Correct. Yeah. Okay. Awesome, Adam. Thank you, sir. Thank you, George. Bye bye. And a very good advice to make sure you take the photographs. Yes. Very good advice. Yes. Okay. All right.

We’ve got Jenny on the line. Good morning, Jenny. Hello. How can I help you, Jenny? Well, I don’t plan on selling, um, but just, this is for insurance purposes, because I heard you mention that. Yeah, of course. So I have, I bought a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 70th edition, new, and so I’m guessing it was probably about 13 years old, 12 or 13 years old now, so I’m just wondering what the value would be for my insurance.

Alright, uh, is it a 4 door or, or is it the 2 door one? It’s a two door and it’s got 156,000 Ks on it. 1 56. All right. Uh, and is it a diesel or a petrol? Petrol. Petrol. And is it automatic or manual? Manual. Manual. All right. Uh, and it’s got a hundred fifty six twenty eleven. Uh, I think for insurance purposes, uh, you should, uh, have it, um, insured for around the 18 to 19.

Oh yeah, because I only just reinsured it the other day and I think, I can’t remember what it was, but I think it was about that much. Yeah, yeah. I just, I can’t see many, I’ve never seen another 70th edition. Mmm, yeah, yeah, there’s not a lot, there’s not a lot of them out there, but um, yeah, I think, I think around that 18 to 19 is the right figure.

So if they’ve put that on, I think you’re in a good position. Okay, wonderful. Thank you so much and for a great radio station. Thank you. Bye bye. Okay, all our lines are free now, 5520 888. It’s a very important start to your process of selling your car. Okay, so all our lines are free and you can call us right now on 5520. double eight, double eight. Okay, Adam. Um, I know, EV. I just, I nearly, I was within the term of silence before you can say you’re having a senior’s moment. Okay. So I’m, it’s not a senior’s moment.

I think we both were, but just before we move on from the EVs, you know, I had a, I had a drive in a, in an EV vehicle a couple of weeks ago, and there’s no doubt that the, uh, the surge of instant. Power is quite a feature of the vehicle. Oh, it’s impressive. You’re not going to use it all the time, but when you put the foot on, it, it responds instantaneously.

Yeah, it’s definitely a very different response to a combustion engine. Yeah. But another thing, whilst the silence is a benefit, I guess, for, for both people outside and people sitting in the car, the disadvantage of two is that there’s no noise to soften the noise of the road, the road noise and hitting any, any roughness.

periods in the roads. It really comes through the vehicle. I have noticed that. So nothing’s perfect, is it? No, and I think they probably need to work on more insulation, uh, to offset that. Offset that. Because it does, it does make you think that you’re perhaps driving a cheaper car or something like that.

It feels, and that engine noise just block that out a little bit. That’s correct, yes. And the other thing that I found is that I find it, it’s a boring interior. There, there, you’ve got, you know, you’ve got your touch screen, but there’s no instruments and there’s no flashing lights and it, to me it, it, it, it lacked um, motivation.

It’s like you’re in a waiting room or something like that. Yes. You don’t have the magazines to read. True. There’s nothing there and, but a younger person would be, um, more, uh, find it more off putting to see all the dials and twitches and switches and everything. That’s right. And they’re quite comfortable with a touch screen.

So the new, the new generation coming through, that sort of technology does suit them, but I don’t know. I’m in the old school, I’m afraid. Well, I think it’s hard for us because we’ve, we’ve come from a very different, uh, generation and the sort of, what we got out of cars, and what we continue to get out of cars is, is a very different feeling to what some of the, uh, the current generations are.

We’re still of an era where that noise comes out the back. That’s right. It’s goosebumps. That’s right. Yeah, it’s, it’s that powerful. I’ve read something about, uh, Ford the other day and they, they were saying they’re very They’re still very proud that they’re, that they’re building a V eight engine. They, yes.

They think that that’s, that’s a big part of their history and their future of the history. Yes, of course. That, that one word part of their future, I thought was a, an interesting thing to say. An interesting thing to say, Hey look, this is your program. Uh, we’d love you to call us and you can do that right now.

We’ve only got about seven minutes to go, so please give us a call on double five two zero double eight. Double eight, and there is our. Good morning, Peter. Good morning, Peter. Uh, good morning. How can I help you? Um, yes, I’m just ringing on behalf of a friend. Um, we’re looking for a valuation for a, um, Ford Ranger dual cab, uh, diesel.

Um, I’m not sure whatever details you require. Do you know what year model it is, Peter? Uh, yes, it’s 2018. 2018, uh, now, is it the XLT? Um, it says four times four. I’m just reading the registration. Does that mean anything? Ah, so it’s a four by four. Uh, it doesn’t say, uh, Ranger XLT or XL or anything like that there?

Uh, no, it doesn’t. It just says dual cab, five seats, um, uh, GVM 3200. Alright, uh And do you know how many kilometres it’s travelled? Uh, yes, it’s just, um, it’s very low, um, say 30, 000 or something like that. 30, 000, alright. I’m going to assume it’s the XLT, because the XLT was the most popular model for, uh, for retail buyers.

A lot of the fleets and that for Uh, mining and that sort of thing bought the XL, uh, so I’ll assume it’s an XLT, uh, and it’s automatic as well? Yes, it’s automatic. All right. Uh, I think, I’ll give you, would you like private sale and trade value? Yes, please. All right. Uh, given the kilometres are so low, uh, I think a private sale for that one, uh, you’d be looking at, uh, around the 46 to 47, uh, and as a trade value is going to be about three to four thousand less than that.

Okay. That’s terrific. Well, thank you very much for your help. You’re welcome. Thank you, Peter. Appreciate your call. All right. Okay, let’s keep the calls coming in and, uh, that number for you to call right now is 5520 888 and you’ll get directly on to Adam Hall. Good morning, John. Good morning, John. You there, John?

Yes, mate. How can I help you, John? Oh, Adam. I’m sorry, mate. Uh, Adam, uh, I heard that lady ringing you, uh, about a caravan. My, uh, my wife of 50 years passed away last August. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s alright, I have a van, but it’s got too many memories. And I’m happy to sell it, and I’m happy, uh, if you want it.

It’s a big van, it’s a 25 foot. Okay. And, uh, it’s, um, it’s as new. And, uh, it’s got washing machine, dryer. Um. Full size oven, full size fridge, double, double slide out if, if, uh, it’s the size you want and you want to handle it, uh, I’m happy to pay your commission. All right. Well, thank you. Thank you, John. I appreciate the call.

Um, did you leave your details at reception? No, I can go back there and leave them. Well, listen, John, excuse me, John, it’s Wayne here. John, it might be worthwhile if you just give Adam a call after, after 9. 30. Yes, after 10. 30. Sorry, after 10. 30, that’ll be the easiest way to do it, mate. And, uh, we can see what we can sort out for you.

Wayne, what time would suit you for me to ring? Uh, probably within the, after the show, about an hour after would be great, if that’s okay. And do you have my number? No, just give it to me again. Alright, it’s 0404 0404 290 290 617

All right, mate, I’ll give you a ring one hour after the show finishes. Great. Thank you, John. I appreciate your call. Thanks, John. All the best. Okay, let’s keep pushing on. That number is 55208888. We’re coming home strong, so if you want to get a valuation, you can do it right now. Good morning to Leo. Good morning, Leo.

G’day, mate. How are you, Adam? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Hi. How are you? Hey, I was just listening to a very interesting article. You’re talking about EV vehicles. I’m considering buying one, but I’ve sort of worked it out. I use 50 a week in fuel. So, if you take that over 12 months, it’s only about 2, 500.

Like, it’s going to take me years to pay for that car. That’s right. Um, now, a friend of mine has bought a Yaris, um, uh, hybrid car. Oh, yes. And he went from Tweed Heads to Port Macquarie and back the other day on 13 litres of fuel. Isn’t that incredible? And, and I’m just thinking to myself, and, and I was only reading an article in the paper this morning about the um, Hertz Rent A Cars are selling all their EV vehicles and going back to petrol.

So it’s, you know, and it still costs you money to charge the thing with electricity. It does. So I don’t know where the psychology is in, in that, you know, when I, what I’m talking about. You know, I’m not sure that. And in Europe, they’re just parked up everywhere and no one wants them, you know, and it’s sort of, I’m just wondering if that’s going to happen in Australia, you know.

There’s been, there’s, they’ve, they’ve hit a few headwinds, uh, electric vehicles. Now they’re really starting to, to struggle, like to build market share. Uh, and if you’re not doing a lot of kilometers. The, economically, it doesn’t make sense to, to do it. And I really, in my opinion, I think hybrid technology is, is the way to go because you’re not paying too much more for the vehicle, but as you said, you’re getting fantastic fuel economy at the same time.

Well look, thanks for your time, I appreciate it, and um, I hope there’s a few listeners thinking about buying an electric vehicle because I can’t see the psychology in it really, yeah. Thanks for your input, really appreciate it. Okay, bye bye. Alright, we’ve got Christine on the line, good morning Christine.

Are you there Christine? Oh yes I am. How can I help you? Um, Adam, I’m just ringing up regarding My husband’s car, he has a 2019 Subaru Forester, um, and it’s done 47, 000. 47? And it’s in very good condition, yeah. Alright. Uh. I don’t even know what it’s worth. Alright, and it’s just the base model is it, Christine?

Hasn’t got leather trim and sunroofs? Yeah, it hasn’t. It’s got leather seats and everything. It would be the top of the model. Oh, top of the range, alright. Yep. Alright. Uh, and 47, 000 kilometres. Uh, would you like a private sale value as well as a trade? I don’t want to trade, just a private. Private, alright.

Uh, I think there’s a, a private sale for that one, uh, with 47, 000 on it. You should be looking at it in the early 30, 000, so around that 32, 000 to 33, 000. Okay. Alright. That sounds good. Okay. Okay, thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you for your call. Alright, we’ve got Craig on the line. Good morning, Craig.

Good morning. Is that Adam? Yes, it is. How can I help you, Craig? Uh, okay, I’ve got a, uh, valuation for a private sale I’m interested in finding out about my, uh, club sport. Ah, I see. Alright. What have you got? So I’ve got, uh, so it’s an HSV, uh, 2014 model VF club sport. I see. And it’s, uh, got 52, 000, it’s done very low K’s and it’s always garaged right from the day it rolled off the showroom floor.

Hmm, alright. Now, now out of, you know, obviously they’re not building them anymore, so there’s, you know, there’s quite a lot of interest around in, in those sorts of things as sort of a, you know, collectible sort of car, I guess. Is yours a manual or an automatic? It’s auto. Am I right? Craig, what I might do, uh, because look, they did hit a real peak, um, but they have come back a little bit.

So I just want to check. I just want to check for you and I’ll let you know on next week’s program what I think it’s worth. Sure. Okay. I might not be tuned in next week. So, uh, if I stay on the line, can I give you some contact details? Uh, I’d say we would have, uh, captured your details at reception as you came through.

So I’ll, I’ll contact you. That would be awesome. Thanks mate. Thank you Craig. Okay, see ya. Alright, we’ve got Marianne on the line, last call. Good morning Marianne. Are you there Marianne? Yes. How can I help you? I have a, uh, phone number on the board. Uh, Marianne, Marianne, are you on a hands free there? Yes. Go off hands free if you can please.

She can’t hear you. Okay. What have you got there Marianne? A 2016 Pajero Sport. Pajero Sport. Automatic. Diesel. Alright. Uh, is it a GLS or GLX or an Xceed? GLX. GLX. Alright. And how many kilometres? Uh, 75, 000. 75. 691. 691. Alright. Uh, and good condition? Yes, it is. Alright. Uh, I think as a, a private sale for that one, uh, you’d be looking in the early 30s for it, so around that 32.

Uh, and trade value’s got to be about three, three to three and a half thousand less than that. Alright. Trading value is less than that? Yes, trading value less than the private sale, that’s right. Alright. Okay, then. Thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you, Marianne. Bye bye. Bye bye. Okay, thank you for your call, Marianne.

And as the promo says, it’s a very good morning to Adam Hall from Hall Group Queensland. Good morning, Colin. How are you? I nearly said Wayne.

I’m sorry. I’m in that habit. I don’t look anything like it. Well, Adam is here to value your car for, and now I’ve gotta get this right. Insurance, Centrelink purposes, trade, or just for private sale. Did I miss anything? No, I think that’s about it. Perfect. All right. Double 5 2 0 double eight. Double eight is the number.

Do not leave it to the last minute. Get in early and be one of the first to have your car or vehicle valued. And that number again? Double 5 2 0 8 8 8. We’ll roll straight into the market wrap. Yeah, we’re gonna. pretty big one. This is for January, which just came out over the last few days. Still a very strong result for January.

89, 782 new cars sold, which is up by 5. 8 percent from January 2023. Starting to come back a little bit now though, because some of those I’ve been reporting over the last few months, most of the increases over the previous year have been double digit increases. So that’s starting to happen. Thank you.

Pull back a bit but still a very strong result. Would you believe that 55. 5 percent of the market now is just SUV? Wow. It’s huge. It wasn’t that long ago when passenger vehicles were about 50 50. 55%?! Uh, light commercials are 22. 9%, and then down the bottom is, now is passenger vehicles, which is your normal hatchbacks that sort of thing.

That’s at 18. 3%. Wow. So it’s really fell away by a lot. Uh, electric vehicles, uh, there was an expectation that this year that, Uh, electric might hit, uh, 10%, but for last month, it sort of, uh, stagnated at 5. 4%, which is about on par with where it was last year. Uh, hybrid was 12%, so hybrid is, uh, is going very well, and that’s, uh, comes back to, uh, the, the supply of hybrids is now starting to come into the country, so a lot of those are being delivered.

Yes. Uh, in terms of brands, uh, once again, Toyota finished number one as they’ve, they’ve done for the last, uh, I think it’s 20, 21 years now in a row, uh, 17, 903, which is about 20 percent of the market. Wow. Incredible result when you think, uh, one in five cars are sold by that brand and there’s nearly 70 different brands in the country.

So it’s, uh, that’s an amazing number. Dominant performance. Uh, Mazda finished, uh, number two, uh, with 8, 165, a long way from, from Toyota. Uh, 624. So you think that number two and three are still well behind what Toyota are doing on their own. Uh, Hyundai, uh, 6, 162, and then coming in at fifth, uh, spot was Mitsubishi with 5, 911.

Let me ask you this quickly, how’s the new model going for Honda and Mercedes Benz? Are they selling what they were hoping they were selling? Uh, in One word, no. Uh, not even close. I actually had a look at, uh, the Mercedes number for last month and it was well down on last year. They’re really, uh, it’s really starting to have an impact on them.

Uh, there’s Honda Uh, had a little bit of a better month, uh, last month compared with last year, but they’ve got a lot of new models. Yes. So there’s normally a big uptick in sales when you get a new model, uh, come in. They’ve got the new ZRV, the new CRV has just come out as well. So I think they would have been expecting to do a whole lot more than what they have.

Uh, I think they’re back to about 16 cars a year. And at one point they were up to about 60, 000. That’s right. So, it’s really having a big impact. I don’t, I don’t think, uh, Australians like to not negotiate at all. Yes. Yes. We love a good negotiation. You gotta feel like you had a win somewhere. That’s right.

I think that’s a, that’s a big part of it. But, uh, uh, in terms of the, uh, the models and how they’re going, uh, I don’t know whether you’ve seen it, but there’s a lot of these Ford Ranger ads out now saying that, uh, that car finished number one for the first time. Toppled, uh, Toyota for Uh, the HILUX. Uh, they’ve done it again in January.

They’ve finished about nearly 700 units ahead of, uh, the HILUX. Didn’t you say that there was some sort of skew, though? They packed a container ship full of, uh, full of four wheel drives to get it over here and win the title? Well, they actually rented their own ship. They rented their own ship to make sure, uh, that they would get it over the line.

But the reality is, is that new Ford Ranger, it’s performing really well in the market. And the Hilux is getting to the end of its, uh, lifespan, uh, where we’ll get a new one. Uh, I, I think that’ll be coming next year. We’ve got an update, uh, that’s coming in, um, March or April, which I think you mentioned earlier is going to have a mild hybrid, uh, diesel, uh, but there’s no difference to the shape.

So I can see Ford Ranger will definitely finish well above Hilux this year. Uh, would you believe, uh, the LandCruiser, uh, uh, 300 series, the big, big LandCruiser, that finished in third spot last month. So that’s, uh, they’ve had an increase in supply, so that’s going, doing very well. Uh, the Isuzu D Max was finished in fourth, uh, and then the RAV4, uh, in fifth.

Okay. I do know that the Isuzu is very popular. I’ve got a couple of friends who’ve bought them and told me that they just didn’t want to go down the Ford road and, and that was, uh, they’re a great car. They are. They’re very reliable. Uh, that new model has performed really well in the market. They’ve really improved a lot.

Alright, 55208888 is the number. Do not leave it to the last minute. If you want your car valued by Adam, we’re live on air this morning and we’ll keep going with the market wrap. Everyone’s going easy on me this morning. Yes, they are. Where are you? My brain might fall asleep. Alright, so, uh, I thought we might talk about, uh, sales by fuel type, because I think that’s a pretty, uh, uh, important subject at the moment.

Yes. Uh, a lot of people are asking me, uh, Should I buy another petrol vehicle? Is it going to be obsolete in the next few years? But, petrol is still the most dominant, um, uh, fuel, fuel, uh, for sales. Uh, of the 89, 000 units, 42, 247 is still. Petrol. Okay. So it’s, uh, it’s close to 50 percent of the market. And then in second place is diesel, uh, with 28, 923.

Uh, hybrid going very well, uh, 9, 821. And then you go down to electric, uh, 4, 893. Uh, the plug in hybrid. Uh, there was 980 of those sold, and uh, would you believe, hydrogen won. That’s one of those registered in the entire country. Where do you get hydrogen from at this point to fill it up? Yeah, exactly. But uh, who knows what will happen with that um, technology in the future.

While we’re back on the hydrogen, who’s actually selling the hydrogen car? Toyota have got a limited number of, um, I’ve just lost me the name of it now, but, uh, there was a limited number of these, um, vehicles released for, uh, government departments and there’s only Okay. They have a, they have a refueling facility, I think, in Victoria.

The buses up here in Brisbane are run on hydrogen, so yeah. Yeah. So that’s, uh, I think, uh, there’s a long way to go with that before that, um, I think, uh, one car is a little bit, that’s right, doesn’t really tell us too much, uh, in terms of countries, uh, Japan is still, uh, very dominant, uh, for manufacturing, uh, 28, 224 of those were delivered, uh, Thailand in number two, uh, 20, 153.

There’s a lot of, uh, Toyota and, uh, even your, um, Ford Rangers, Isuzu D Max, they’re made in Thailand now. Okay. So, a lot of, um, a lot of vehicles made there. Uh, China is the one that is really starting to surge ahead, they’re finished in third spot. 12, 902 Chinese built vehicles. Uh, then you go down to Korea, which is your Kia and Hyundai.

Yes. Uh, 12, 476. Uh, and then Germany with, uh, luxury cars, of course, uh, 3, 380. Wow, okay, the luxury cars are down there a little bit, aren’t they? Uh, look, it’s, it’s, it’s always, uh, it’s never going to be in that. That, uh, area of the more mainstream vehicles, not everybody has over a hundred thousand dollars to spend on a car.

No, that’s right, . That’s exactly right. Alright, the number to call to have your car valued for insurance, Centrelink trade, or just general sale? Double 5 2 0 8 8 8 8. If you’re over the border, put a zero seven in front of it. That’s zero seven double 5 2 0 double eight. Double eight. Alright. Where did we get to now?

Tesla. Tesla. Yeah, that’s, let’s talk about Tesla. Uh, uh, there’s 25, uh, California counties that have now, uh, they’re going to sue Tesla for, uh, mishandling of hazardous waste. Isn’t that ironic when we’re talking about, um, Tesla being something that could save the, save the planet, save the planet. Uh, but apparently they’ve been, uh, accused of, uh, Of disposing of, uh, paint materials, brake fluids, uh, used battery cells, and diesel fuel, would you believe?

So that must be for generators or something like that. Uh, but apparently these, uh, items have been illegally dumped. But it’s not just an isolated, uh, incident, it’s a, it’s at a hundred different Tesla facilities. Wow. So, uh, watch that space, that’ll be, that’s a, that’s a really big concern. Uh, another thing about, uh, uh, Tesla, uh, Toyota of Uh, outselling them incredibly with, uh, hybrids.

Uh, two to one, would you believe? Yeah, look, and that’s the interesting component. I mean, everybody dove on the Tesla bandwagon. Uh, it costs a lot to sit there and put the power bank into your house when you buy a Tesla. It’s a big investment. And then your power bill’s going to go up. Yes, your petrol bill’s going to go down.

The sums just don’t seem to work out for me. Good thought. The hybrid one does, and that’s just for the fact that, yeah, okay, I can splash some fuel in if I’m caught, and it’s not, nowhere near the, uh, the value that I was paying. It might be every fortnight that I, I, I fill up, dependent upon my travel. Yeah, right.

I think, uh, I think another concern that people have right now is affordability as well. Sure. To, there’s a new, uh, Kia, uh, EV9, which is your SUV. fairly large SUV, maybe the size of a, say a Toyota Prada or something like that. But your entry point into that car is 110, 000. Yes. Uh, and then the top of the range is, gets close to 150, 000.

The average person just doesn’t have that sort of, um, money. To splash around. To splash around on the car. And now that we’ve got an increase in interest rates and that sort of thing as well, uh, the cost of, for. Paying back something like that is just not something that people can afford. Agreed. Alright, we have our first caller.

So don’t forget, 55208888 is the number if you’d like your car valued by Adam live on air this morning. It’s a very good morning to Jim. Good morning Jim. Good morning Jim. Hi Adam, how are you doing? Very well thank you. How can I help you? Uh, just mate, I just wanna ask you a quick question. Sure. What do you think of the mg?

mg? Alright. All electric a Oh, the all electric? Yeah. Uh, so is it something you’re considering buying? I’ve got one and I just want. A little bit of input. Okay. Uh, look, I, I haven’t heard bad reports about the MG. Look, they’re certainly affordable. Uh, it’s the, when you’re getting into that, uh, into the electric car space, MG have done a pretty good job at putting a, a reasonably priced, uh, option out there.

Uh, I think another thing that has really attracted people to MG in general is the long warranty that they now come with. We all know that they’re, well most people know that they’re made in China, uh, but they’ve really had an increase in popularity, uh, now that they have that seven year warranty. Uh, so that’s really made a, made a big difference.

Yeah. I, I, how have you, have you had the car for long or? I’ve Four months. And I, I, I, I swear by it, I mean it’s, it’s, uh, great. Like, uh, I was spending any anywhere up to $150 a week in fuel, gee. Mm. And it’s, it’s worked out that it’s costing me, uh, with, with plugin of a night as, uh, about $50 a week. Gee, that’s pretty good.

Yeah. That’s great. So you must do a fair few kilometers, do you? Well, I did. Uh, I, uh, And they did get car of the year. I mean, that’s a great thing to drive. Yeah, yeah. I just think, again, I was just talking about how some of these electric vehicles are just out of reach for the average person. But again, I think MG have done a pretty good job at producing a product that people can afford to buy.

And then, when you’ve got those ongoing savings, like you just mentioned, then it makes a lot of sense. Well, you’ve got no services, you’ve got no, virtually nothing, it’s just Hmm. Hmm. How often do you have to have that, take that in for a, uh, a check? Every two years for a service. Every two years. Yeah, that’s right.

Hmm. That’s very interesting, isn’t it? Every two years, that’s, uh So it’s twelve months now for, for normal cars. They’ve, uh, stretched it out to twelve months, so it is a big saving there as well. Yeah. Anyway, thanks mate for that. for your input, Jim. Enjoy your chat and enjoy your new car. All right. I think we’ve got William on the line.

Good morning, William. Good morning, William. Good morning, Adam. I have a question for you. Certainly. If you have an electric car and it is the warranty is out of the battery. Is it done any value left? Oh, gee, uh, that’s an interesting question. Uh, so when you say it’s out of warranty, do you mean out of battery warranty as well?

Yeah, yeah, that’s what I mean. Not, not the car warranty, but because car warrants, cars go on for years and years and years, but electric cars without warranty on the battery after eight years, do they have any value left? Absolutely. I’ve no doubt about that because right now the cost to replace an electric battery, um, for a full electric car is over 30, 000.

So a lot of cars in, let’s say, 8 years time wouldn’t be worth that. 30, 000. I guess it’s, um, if you do a comparison, if you say looked at a, an eight year old, um, an eight year old vehicle of some sort and the engine failed, um, what would be the value of that car? And it wouldn’t be much. No. So that, that’s the big concern right now for a lot of people.

And it’s having an impact on resale value with electric vehicles. Um, once they get to it and we haven’t had enough of them yet. Um, reach a certain age to see what is going to happen. Um, but there is a lot of concern about resale values down the track because your normal internal combustion engines, they could be 10, 12, sometimes 15 years old, but there’s still value in the vehicle because you, you still have engine life left.

Um, but if your electric battery fails, the cost to replace really, um, cancels out the value of the car. Okay. That’s what I wanted to say. Thank you very much for this answer. Thank you, William. Thank you, William. 55208888 is the number if you’d like your car valued for resale, sale, um, and uh, insurance purposes and Centrelink purposes.

I think we’ve got a caller coming in very, very shortly and here he is. It’s a very good morning to David. Good morning, David. Ask your question of Adam. Good morning, David. Good morning, Adam. Yeah, I’ve got an evaluation on a 2013 Nissan Pulsar Ti, top of the range, with the electric sunroof. Pulsar Ti, uh, and it’s a sedan, is it, David?

Yes, sedan, yes. Sedan, uh, automatic, uh, and how many kilometres has it travelled? 53, 000. 53, gee, very low kilometers. Uh, I want to ask you one question. Have you ever had any issues with the transmission so far? No, never, nothing at all. Never, okay. I’ve heard people say about it, but mine’s as smooth as a That’s good.

I think, uh, the fact that you’ve only travelled 53, 000, uh, helps as well. Uh, but it is a, it is a very common problem with the Nissan Pulsar. Um, most of them fail at some point. Um, but, uh, I haven’t seen many with, uh, kilometres like yours that have failed. But generally up around the 80 to 100, 000, uh, they can, um, have a problem.

Uh, in terms of, would you like a private sale price as well as a trade in? Yes, thank you. All right. Uh, I think if you were to sell, uh, the car privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 12, 000 for it, uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’d be around the 9, 000 to 10, 000. Oh, that’s good. Good. Thank you.

All right. Appreciate it, David. Thank you, David. Appreciate your call. Bye bye. Thank you, David. 5520 888 is the number and we will have a word from our sponsors. So, uh, double 5 2 0 8 8 8 8 is the number if you’d like your car valued this morning, live on air. And I was gonna ask you, Adam, just quickly, actually we’ve got some homework. Maybe we’ll do the homework first.

Might do that. We don’t wanna miss that one. Jerry’s been waiting a while. I hope you’re listening to Jerry. Uh. You called in last week with your Land Rover Defender, uh, the last of the, the steel body very, uh, uh, they’re very popular actually, because, uh, this new one is very, very different. Yes. Uh, they’re actually selling for far more than what they were, uh, new, uh, But I want to give a reasonable figure to you, Jerry, because some people are just asking ridiculous prices for them.

Uh, based on your description, yours had 50, 000 kilometers on it. I think around 80, 000 would be the right price to ask. And what would have been the price he paid for it when it was new? Uh, probably around 60, 000 for that one. I don’t think I’ve ever heard cars appreciate, but there’s one for you. No, no.

Because it’s incredible. Alright, we’ve got Rick on the line. Very good morning to you Rick. I’ll ask you a question of Adam. Good morning Rick. Good morning, Adam. I have a Mercedes, a hybrid Mercedes, uh, um, C350E, um, it’s only done thirty, thirty one thousand four hundred. Okay. And, um, it’s a 217 built and sold in 218.

Hmm, alright, 218. It’s iridium silver in colour. Silver, alright, and, and has it got the black, uh, black leather? Yes. Black leather, and does it have a, uh, sunroof, Rick? Yes, yes. Sunroof, alright. I wanted to ask you about that car, because they, they report very, um, quite incredible fuel economy. How do you go with fuel economy with the E3, the C350E?

It’s really good, very, very good indeed. In fact, I’m surprised how many miles I get. Could you give us an idea, Rick? Um, I’d be guessing, I really don’t know. That’s okay, that’s alright. No, I understand. Alright, so I think I’ll give you a private sale price as well as a trade. Uh, your kilometres are a lot lower than the average.

Uh, I think, uh, if you were to sell that one privately, uh, you should be expecting in the late 30s for it, uh, so around that 38 to 39, uh, and if you were to trade it in, it is going to be about 4, less than that. That’s amazing. Somebody told me, uh, It, it would be at least 45. I don’t think it’s there anymore.

I, I, I really don’t. I think, uh, there’s a lot of, um, I know there’s not as many C3 50 Es, but once you get to around that, that six to seven year age, it’s pretty hard to, to get somebody to pay in the middle 40 for something like that. Now, just my opinion though, . Alright. So what do you think it’ll be worth in the late thirties?

I think, uh, around that sort of 38 to 39. Okay. All right. Okay. Even though it’s immaculate and everything else, and 31, 000 keys, Yeah, you could try asking a little bit more, but I think that’s where it’s going to end, around that 38 to 39. Comes down to the buyer, Rick. You never know. Yeah, it does. All right.

All right. Thank you very much. Thank you. Bye bye. All right. We have John on the line. Good morning to you, John. Good morning, John. Okay. All right. Yes, good morning, Adam. How are you? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Right, I’ve got a Honda 2017 HR V, white, automatic, and it’s done 50, 000 kilometres. 50, 000?

Come up with the three values, please. Alright, so you want private sale, trade and a Centrelink appraisal? That’s correct. Alright. Uh, now, is it a VTI model, John? Oh, I’m not sure. Just the base model, so it doesn’t have leather trim or sunroof or anything like that? Oh, no. No, alright. Uh, I think, uh, for private sale for that one, I think you should be expecting around the 17.

Uh, I think as a trade value, you’d be around 15. Uh, and for Centrelink appraisal, I’d go another couple of thousand below that. Okay. Alright. All right, and I’ve just got one other question. Sure. All those figures you quote for the number of vehicles sold, are they Queensland wide or Australia wide? That’s Australia wide.

Australia wide. Yeah. Okay. All right. Okay. Thank you, John. I appreciate your call. Thank you. Thank you, John. All right. Last caller of the day. We have Foti. I think it’s Foti. Forgive me if I’ve mispronounced it. Good morning. Hello. Good morning mate, how are ya? Very well, thank you. How can I help you? Just regarding the last two cars I’ve um, bought, purchased.

The last car’s not too bad, but the uh, the Kia GT, I think it’s the 1. 6 litre turbo. Oh yeah? Yeah, it’s just um, I was talking about it being a pretty good car, but unfortunately, what do I have on it? I think about 6 7000k on it, and the gearbox started to go on it. Oh really? 2022 model year, and apparently they do have a lot of gearbox problems, and I was just wondering if anyone was out there that gave you a call that had the same drama.

Uh, you’re the first call about that, uh, because TIA I normally get really good reports back about, so, um, maybe put, we’ll put it out there to the listeners, if anyone else has had any issues, maybe give us a call and we can have a chat about it. Yeah, so, yeah, eventually I did trade that car in and I ended up buying, uh, bought a partner, the new, I think it’s called the M Project i30.

Ah, I see. Okay. Hmm. Well, that sounds like a good car. Very good car. Well, appreciate your call, Foddy. Alright buddy, no worries. Okay, enjoy your day. Thank you very much. Alright, we got a little fluster there towards the end, which was good. We were a little concerned early out, but we had some great information to impart.

Yes, and a very good morning to you. We are here. And the man himself is sitting in front of me, as he should, as he does. And he does it every Tuesday.

Good morning, Adam. Good morning, Wayne. Thank you for joining us once again this morning. Thank you for having me back. Yes. Oh, we enjoy it too much. We wouldn’t miss our Tuesday. And if you’re joining us for the first time, this program is called What’s Your Car Worth? It’s a very simple formula. If you’re planning on selling your car, trade in or selling it privately, um, there is a great need for you with this fluctuating market that you’re trying to sell into or sell out of, um, that you get the right starting price and still continues, Adam, the, uh, the ups and downs of the marketplace still very fragile.

Particularly, uh, this part of the year, it’s really, uh, there’s been some big variations in pricing. And it continues, yes. So, you need to get the right price so that you’re not wasting your selling time by just sitting on a website somewhere. And, uh, Adam can give you a real time valuation on your motorcar, and all you’ve got to do is call 5520 8888.

In addition to that, I thought you were going to say something. No, I wasn’t. See, now this is this intuition we’ve built up over 40 years of radio. I was just intently listening to you. I thought I was getting a message through to me saying, will you shut up a minute while I tell you. Alright, sorry about that.

Look, if you’re wanting a revaluation on your motor car for insurance or Centrelink purposes, Adam can help you with that. That as well because it’s a different formula and it’s also a very important one in the fluctuating market prices going up and down in the marketplace. That filling out of that, uh, reinsurance valuation on the car That’s right.

Could be really outta date, couldn’t it? It is because they really lag behind by a fair bit. Yeah. So if you just. Just about to renew your insurance. It’s a good idea to definitely make sure you’re either adequately insured, but what I’ve been getting a lot of people that are overinsured. So their premiums are a lot higher.

You’re paying more and significant too. That’s right. So keep that one in mind as well. And the final one. And then I’ll stop talking. The final one is if you want to downsize the Big Beast. If it’s time. The time has come. Okay, downsizing the Big Beast, you need to find out what it’s costing you by sitting in the garage as well to give you the encouragement to put it on the market.

Alright, 5520 888 is the number for you to join us this morning here on What’s Your Car Worth? Adam, do you want to do the, uh, homework for this week first? We should do that. Um, uh, Graeme phoned in last week and he was phoning on behalf of a friend, uh, and he had a pretty rare car, the Ford TS 50, which was a pretty rare performance car of the day.

Yes. Um, it was a 2001 model, I believe, or 2001 or 2. Uh, the They were built in limited numbers. Uh, it was pretty difficult to find some pricing on it, but there was one that was sold, uh, about two years ago where I think the market was a bit stronger then. It had more kilometers on it, but that one sold for 35, 000.

So I think around that 35, 000 mark would be the right price, uh, Graeme, so I hope you’re listening in. Otherwise I’ll talk to you another time. Okay, Graham, I hope you, that helped you out, Graham, and as Adam said, if you missed it, um, you can contact him directly as well. Alright, we’ve got a couple of more calls at the, at this stage, and it’s good morning to Paul.

Paul, go ahead, what’s your car? Good morning, Paul. Yeah, good morning. How are you, mate, alright? Well, yeah, we’re doing, we’re doing alright. How about you? Yeah, pretty good, Good on you, mate. Go ahead, what’s the car you want to check with Adam? What I’ve got is a November 15, current shape Hilux, it’s the first of the current shape.

Okay. It’s a workmate, automatic, uh, long tray tow bar. I’ve only used it for private use, and it’ll be about a 9 out of 10. 9 out of 10, alright. And is it white? Yes, it’s white. That was a pretty easy guess because most of them are. Yeah, and it’s done, um, 77, 000. Oh, okay, the kilometers are pretty low. Alright, so it’s got the 2550 tray on it, the longer tray.

That’s correct. Alright, and are you wanting a private sale figure as well as a trade? Well, what I’d like, Adam, I’d like to know a private sale and maybe a wholesale price that you might be interested in. Alright. Alright. Uh, I think as a, a private sale, uh, so we’re getting on to close to nine years old now.

Uh, I think as a private sale, it’s going to be in that sort of 17 to 18 sort of range. Uh, and as a, as a wholesale value, it’s going to be more in the middle, middle teens, so around that 15 mark. Mate, you’re a genius, more than I thought I was. Oh, good. All right. Thank you, Paul. I’ve got your number. Yeah, give me a call.

Graeme. I’ll give you a call because the car is exactly as I said it is. Okay, great. All right, well, I’ll talk to you. It’s got a log book. I forgot to tell you, it’s got the log book, so I bought it brand new. Okay, great. All right, well, I’ll talk to you soon. Thank you, Adam. Thank you, Paul. Okay, Paul. Cheers now, bye.

Bye, mate. Bye. Okay, Patricia, go ahead. What’s your car? Good morning, Patricia. Morning. Um, I’ve got a, um, a 2011 Nissan X Trail. It’s a T31 Series 4 wagon, 5 door. 5 door, uh huh. 4×4, 2. 5 litre auto. 2. 5, alright. Okay, the colour’s silver. Silver. It’s done 165, 472 kilometres. You’ve got a very accurate description here.

It’s very good. Yeah, and I’ve been listening to your series of stories. Um, and also it’s got um, extras like roof rack, side steps, tow bar, um, the privacy cover in the boot. Um, it’s been regularly serviced, and um, it has new tyres on at the moment. Alright, and it’s automatic is it? It’s automatic, yeah.

Alright, now is it the 4 wheel drive or a 2 wheel drive one? It’s a four, a four wheel drive. Four wheel drive, alright, great. Alright, so 2. 5 litre, 2011. Uh, it sounds like it’s in pretty good order as well. Yes it is. Just a little bump in the front and, uh, I think a dent in the back. Okay, now would you like a private sale value as well as a Yes please, private sale would be great.

Alright, private sale, uh, with 165 on it. I think, uh, I think you should be asking around the 10, 000 mark for it. Lovely, appreciate that. Thank you Patricia, enjoy your day. have a good day. Bye bye. Alright, we’ve got Kay on the line. Good morning Kay. Good morning. Ah, good morning. How can I help you? I’ve got two cars, I just wanted to get a price on it, if that’s ok?

Certainly, what have you got there? I’ve got um, one Honda CRV, which is 2010 model, with sunroof, and um, 180,000 kilometers. Hundred 80. All right. Uh, now, so it it’s a, it’s a sport model, is it? Yes, it’s, yes. Alright. The sport and it’s automatic. Yes. And what color is it? Kay. It’s sort of like a bronzy color. Ah, no, the color.

That’s sort of bronze. Like the bronze. Is that what you Yeah, that’s right. That’s right. Uh, so 180 on it. And how’s the condition? Is it pretty well looked after? Yes. It’s looked after. It’s being serviced regularly because Honda loves servicing. Yeah. I understand. They do, don’t they? They do. They love this.

Now would you like a, would you like a private sale value as well as a trade? Yes, thank you. All right. Uh, I think, uh, to sell privately, uh, uh, you should be expecting around the, uh, around the eight to eight and a half thousand for it. Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’d be about two to two and a half less than that.

Now, and what’s the second car that you’ve got? The second car is a Honda CRV as well, if you like the Hondas. Yeah. And, um, it’s a silver limited, I think, with leather. And it’s 2014. 2014, alright, so it’s a VTI L. Um, yes. Alright, now is that two, is that two wheel drive or the four wheel drive? The all wheel drive.

All wheel drive, yeah. And how many kilometres has that travelled? That one’s 182. 182, alright. Okay, so, uh, so similar kilometers but a later model. Alright, uh, It’s got heated seats, it’s got all the extras. Yeah, they’re pretty well equipped, those. Uh, I think as a private sale, um, for that one, uh, you should be expecting around the 13, 000 to 14, 000.

And, and once again, it’s going to be about 2, 000 to 3, 000 less than that as a trade. Okay, well very much, I appreciate that. You’re welcome, Kay. Have a nice day. Same to you. Bye. Bye bye. Yeah, it’s a very busy line on that one. It certainly was. You’re doing well, doing well to keep up. Alright, well all our lines are now free, 5520 8888, it’s about our midway point in the program, so why don’t you get on now, you can get directly on to Adam Hall to give you a real time valuation.

on your motor car, double five two zero double eight double eight is the number. Okay, Adam, um, get back to the, the list again. We’d better get this, this, uh, cheap, this cheap Ferrari out, out of the way. Yes, we’ve been going to talk about this for the last couple of weeks. Uh, there was a 19 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe, which has got, uh, actually had race history as well, which adds a bit more value to it, but it was going to auction in Paris and the expected, uh, sale price was to be above 15 million, but it ended up getting well above that.

Uh, it sold at the end of last month. Would you believe for 19. 689 million dollars. Some people have just got too much money. But I think you would look at that in maybe 15 or 20 years time and it might be double that again. So there’s a, there’s a prediction, it is a big prediction, but you’re right, it could in fact, that’s why people are paying the big money because the expectation on an increase in investment.

It’s amazing. Okay. It’s a good morning to Graham. Graham, what’s your vehicle? Good morning, Yes, Graham. I think I, I fell through the cracks with that TS 50. Oh, yeah. Hi, Graham. How are you? I, uh I’m good. You didn’t, uh, hear what I had to say there? No, I didn’t. I’m very sorry. That’s okay. All right. So, I did a bit of homework on this one.

It was pretty hard to find some actual sales, um, but I did. I found, I found one that sold back in, um, 2021 at auction, uh, and it sold for 35, 000. Right. So, it’s a TS 50. It has slightly more kilometers, uh, but I think it’s, Because the market has come back a bit. I think that’s probably about the number around that 35 Based on the right.

Was that a phase three ts50? There were three phases one two and three Yeah, it was a it was a three. So the end. Oh, okay. Yeah, so it was the end. Yeah Definitely. That’s a good indicator. Thank you very much for your help. You’re welcome. Thank you graham Bye bye All right. We’ve got uh, jeff on the line. Good morning, jeff Uh, good morning.

Um Adam, um, a similar one to, uh, earlier with the X Trail. Mine’s a 2012 model, T31. It’s the TL, a 2 litre turbo diesel, 6 speed auto, and it’s twilight colour, and it’s done, um, let me have a look, it’s done, uh, 227, 000. 227, okay. Hmm. Are you there? Are you still there? Jeff? You there Jeff? Ah, sorry. Although I lo I lost you for a minute there.

Yeah, sorry. I, I, I’m sitting in the car and I turned it on to uh, check the Speedo and they dropped out of ah, see. Alright, Bluetooth. Alright, I’ll just, um, I’ll just repeat what you, the information you gave me. So it’s a 2012 Nissan and Xra tl. So it’s the diesel, it’s automatic. Yep. Uh, and it’s got 227,000 on it.

Yeah, four by four. Four by four. All right. And has it got any extras on it? Uh, tow bar and roof racks. Tow bar and roof racks. Okay. All right. Now the kilometers will affect this one, uh, a bit because once you get over that 200 markets becomes a little bit more difficult. Uh, I think as a private sale value, uh, you’d be looking at around that eight.

Uh, and as a trade value, it’s going to be about two to two and a half less than that. Okay, down around the five and a half or six, something like that. That’s right, that’s correct. I was interested in the earlier comment about the insurance. My insurance cover on this car says it’s insured for 17, 000. Oh, gee, yeah.

What should I do with that? Get onto them and drop that down. Drop it down, drop it down because you’d be really, um, it’s over insured. So, um, your premium would be so much higher based on that. So, uh, yeah, I would be dropping it. You’ve got to, uh, when you’re doing insurance, you’ve just got to. It’s remembering that there’s still stamp duty to pay and there’s a lot of transfer costs, so you want to be more than what you would have to pay, um, so you can allow for those costs and even things like registration and that, but, uh, but yeah, it’s definitely well above what it should be.

Okay, and of course, if I had a claim on that, they would only pay me market value, I guess, would they? Uh, well, if, if it’s saying that you’re insured for 17, 000, um, from my understanding, that’s, that’s what you’ll get. That’s, but just remembering that, um, that you’d be paying a much higher premium for that.

I am, yeah. Hmm, alright. All right. I appreciate that. Thank you for your help. You’re welcome. Thank you, Jeff. Bye. Yeah. Thank you for your call, Jeff. And that’s an interesting aspect of our program that we haven’t spoken about for a while, that insurance cover and rising costs, premiums you’re paying. They’re going through the roof and maybe it’s time to have a check on your motor car.

That’s right. Okay. All our lines are free. How about yours? I think you’d better get it into action because we can talk to you straight away. You could get directly onto Adam Hall by calling 552088. double eight right now and, uh, the time is, hmm, it’s, uh, twenty two minutes past ten so not much time left for you to do that today.

And you’re with What’s Your Car Worth right now, and Adam Hall is waiting for your call on 5520 888. Adam, this is an interesting, um, uh, comment you were going to make, I think, uh, last week. We didn’t get a chance to do it, but the road toll stats, uh, when you pitch them against the, the safety of cars, there seems to be a little, uh, Question mark there.

Well it is because every year when a new car is released there’s generally more safety features available on those models and even as time goes on even the standard models end up with safety features that were generally available in a more expensive. Exactly. range of car, uh, but the Australian road death toll isn’t telling us that, uh, that it’s not much more safe on our roads because last year the death toll increased by 7%.

Would you believe there was 1, 266 road related deaths, which is about 5 deaths per 100, 000 Australians. So it’s a pretty sobering statistic. So it’s sort of a wonder of what, is it the way we drive? Is it that there’s more people on our roads now? It’s just a, uh, it’s a It’s a statistic that I would have thought would start, would have started to go down.

And is that just for vehicle, for car registrations? Is that just for cars, not motorcycles? Is it, or is it a mixed fit? No, that’s everything. That’s, that is everything. That’s, that’s road related deaths. Road related deaths. Okay. All right. I guess it’s a, it’s a question mark. It certainly is. Isn’t it? Okay.

We’ve got a couple of callers there. Adam? There we go, Tony on the line. Good morning, Tony. Hey, good day. Uh, I got a Toyota Hilux 2018, 90, 000 Ks. It’s got a smart canopy, it’s got bull bar, tow bar, flashlights, and uh Snorkel. Got so much extras. What’s that pre word? Uh, alright, so it’s a 2018. Now, in 2018, Tony, there was a new shape that came out in the middle of the year.

Is yours the update shape? Yes. It is? Alright. Uh, Yep. It’s a silver, black, mag wheels, beautiful, beautiful car. And how many kilometers has it traveled? 90, 000. 90, 000, alright, 90, 000. It’s got a lot of extras on it, alright. Uh, and you’re wanting a pro It’s the top of the range, it’s the SR SR5? What do you call that?

The SR5? Yes. Alright, and is it, does it have the, the leather trim as well? Yes, leather, black leather. Alright. Alright, and would you like a private sale figure as well as a trade? Private and trade, please. Alright. I think, uh, if you were to sell it privately, uh, you should be expecting around the 50, 000 mark for it.

Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’s probably going to be about 4, 000 less than that. Okay, thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Tony. Alright, we’ve got Brian on the line. Good morning, Brian. Yeah, good morning, um, I got a Toyota Kluger 2009, a white one, uh, 164, 000, sunroof, turbo. Alright, so it’s a 2009, so given that it’s got a sunroof, is it the Grande model, Brian?

Yes it is. Grande, so it’s got leather trim and all that as well. Uh, now is it the all wheel drive or the, uh, two wheel drive? Uh, all, all wheel drive. All wheel drive, alright. Well the kilometres are certainly low for the age. Um, would you like private and trade value? Yes, if I could, thanks. Alright, uh, I think if you were to sell it, uh, privately, uh, you should be expecting around the, uh, 11, 000 to 12, 000 for it.

Uh, and if you were to trade it in, it’ll be about 3, 000 less than that. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. Well, thank you very much for that. You’re welcome. Thank you for your call. Alright, we’ve got Jerry on the line. Good morning, Jerry. Good morning. How can I help you, Jerry? Uh, can you do two vehicles? Certainly. What have you got there?

Okay, 19, uh, 1993, sorry, 1995 Volvo 960 automatic sedan with the sunroof and all the extras in immaculate condition. It’s got 150, 000 on the clock. It’s automatic. Okay, alright. That’s a bit of a tough one for me. I haven’t seen one of those for a long time. Uh, uh, and this is just a rough estimate. I think if you found the right, and it’s a matter of trying to find the right person to buy it, probably in that sort of 3, 000 to 4, 000 range, if it’s immaculate.

Right, okay. What’s the second one you’ve got? Uh, 2016 Land Rover Defender, the last one they made, before the new shape, 2. 2 turbo diesel, 6 speed manual, 7 seater wagon, and it’s only got 50, 000 on the clock. Have you called me, have you called me about this one before? No, no. No, you haven’t? Okay. Alright. I think somebody, and sorry, how many kilometres has it travelled?

Uh, 50, 000 km. 50, 000. Alright. Full of service history. Mm. Alright. You’ve definitely given me some tough ones there. Um, with a Defender. I’m sorry. No, that’s okay. What am I do with a Defender? I just want to check. Uh, so I’ll give you an accurate figure. Uh, I’ll check it up this week and I’ll let you know on next week’s program what I think it’s worth.

Okay, I don’t, I don’t think you can go anymore by the market because, uh, you know, people are asking double what they sold for in 2016 and I doubt if they’d sell them for that. No, they don’t. They don’t. No. I don’t look at that sort of data. I look at sales data, what, what things have actually sold for. All right.

But I’ll let you know on next week’s program what I think. Thank you. Appreciate your time. Have a good day. Thank you, Gerry. Alright, we’ve got Frank on the line. Good morning Frank. Yeah, good morning. Look, I’ve phoned before. I’ve got a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Aspire 2014. And, um, I’m just interested in the insurance value now.

It’s 150, 000 on the clock now. It’s got 150, 000, is that right? 130. 130, alright. I think the first time I spoke to you it had about 80, 000 on it, was that right? That’s exactly right. Yeah. I’m in Uber, using it as an Uber. Ah, I see. Alright. For a while now. Alright. Look, I think for a And it was Yeah, you there?

Sorry, go ahead. I think for insurance value, I remember you paid about 25, 000 for it back then, somewhere around there. That’s exactly right. That’s exactly right. That was pretty, um Pre COVID and the values went up to a couple of thousand more than that. Yeah, that’s right. And they dropped quite quickly.

That’s right, yeah. I think for insurance purposes, um, you should, um, be at least around that 18 to 19, because you’ve got to be able to replace it. Yeah. Alright. Oh, okay. Eighteen, nineteen. And what, what is, what would it be valued at now, uh, these days? I know that they’ve dropped a lot. Yeah, probably in the middle teens.

So around that, around that fifteen mark, I think is, is going to be what it’s worth. Right. Okay. Alright. Okay. Thank you very much. You’re welcome. Thank you, Frank. Cheers. Alright, we’ve got Joy on the line. Good morning, Joy. Ah, hi, Adam. Um, I’m just wanting an opinion, please, if you don’t mind. Certainly. Um, a Lexus, uh, NX350H, um, two wheel drive.

I’m just wondering about your thoughts on it. They’ve already had an, uh, uh, increase in price in January, and there’s talk of an increase in price in August. Is that normal? Uh, it is a little bit with these hybrids at the moment. They just keep, um, so have you, uh, ordered one, have you? Um, we were thinking of it, yes.

Right, okay. The, the, the issue at the moment is that Toyota and Lexus, they’re not holding, so if you order a car, um, uh, then they won’t hold the price. Uh, so you just But, uh, it isn’t normal that they keep Um, raising prices, um, but I don’t, I don’t think there’s going to be really big increases going forward now because I think a lot of those, um, sort of inflationary pressures are sort of easing a bit now, uh, so I, I just don’t think that if there was a price rise, I don’t think it’ll be, uh, it’ll be a big one.

Very high. Hmm. Hmm. Well, that’d be good. So what do you think of it as a car? Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Me too. You can’t go wrong. Me too. They’re a great car. I know several people that have bought them and they say that they’re the best car they’ve ever owned. Ah, well that’s a good recommendation.

Alright. Thank you very much Adam. You’re welcome. Thank you Joy. Bye. Bye. Good morning Sharon. Oh, good morning. How can I help you Sharon? Um, we’ve got a 2004 Storm Z6U. V acute in the storm. Alright. And it’s a, so it’s a V six. And how many kilometers has it traveled? 65,000. Oh dear. 65 . That’s incredible. Got, it’s got leather upholstery.

Mm Uh, it’s got a rubber of liner in the tray. Mm-Hmm. A fairly new tarp. Yeah. Not new. Probably three, four years old. Um, yeah, it’s in really good condition. Look, the average one of these is probably worth 4, 000 or 5, 000, but this, because it’s got 65, 000 kilometres, puts it in a totally different league. Uh, I would think for a collector, um, that would be, uh, as a private sale, in that sort of 12, 000 to 14, 000 range.

Oh, that’s good. Alright. I drive it. Thing out for me. . Yeah. It’s, it’s a matter of finding the right buyer. And I know that’s a high figure, but, uh, somewhere around that is would be the asking price. I think. So how, how do you sell a though a collective’s item Auction is the best place is to put it to like a, a grays auction or something like that.

’cause then you get a national audience. Do you know if alternatively on the Gold Coast is there? Uh, yes, Lloyd’s Auctions is the other one. Uh, they’re at Carrara, so you could contact them as well. Alright. So if you just put it on the internet, you don’t think that would work? Oh, definitely worth a try, definitely.

Yeah, because it still gets a national audience. But auction, um, they normally do pretty well. All right. Okay. Thank you, Sharon. Appreciate your call. We’ve got one last call. We’ve got Lindsay on the line. Good morning, Lindsay. Good morning. How can I help you? I’ve got a two, one price please for Centrelink.

Uh, 2002, three liter Nissan turbo diesel, 270, 000 270. All right. Uh, and patrol Alright, uh, for Centrelink I think, uh, you should be putting down around the 8, 000 mark on that one. Right. And you’ve got one more. One 2013 Mission X Trail, 70, 000 Ks. 70, uh, and it’s just the, uh, ST model is it? Yes, yes. Alright, I think for Centrelink for that one, uh, you should put down the value at around 10, 000.

Lovely. Thanks very much, Adam. You’re welcome. Andy. Bye bye. All right. Thank you. Thank you for that. Well done. Uh, another show, uh, rushed into the end there. Uh, it’s amazing. Thank you so much for your time this morning, Adam. Thank you, mate. Look forward to being with you again next week. See you then. Cheers, mate.
